FOX UFC SATURDAY DELIVERS PRIMETIME KNOCKOUT

Ratings Show +47% Increase from Last Year’s Event

New York, NY – FOX UFC SATURDAY powered the network to a primetime win across key demographics this past Saturday night, including in Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The seventh installment of UFC on FOX, which saw lightweight champion Benson Henderson successfully defend his title in a dramatic split decision victory over Gilbert Melendez, posted a 2.2/4 average household rating/share, with 3.7 million viewers, representing a +47% increase over last year’s comparable UFC on FOX event on May 5, 2012 (1.5/3, 2.4 million viewers). FOX UFC SATURDAY out-rated the combined averages of ABC, CBS and NBC among Men 18-34 (2.2 vs. 1.0), Men 18-49 (2.7 vs. 1.6) and Men 25-54 (2.8 vs. 2.2).

Viewership for the title bout between Henderson and Melendez peaked at a 2.7/5, with 4.7 million viewers, and posted a 2.7 in Men 18-34 and a 3.3 in Men 18-49, which would have made it the second highest rated show in those two demos for the week among all broadcast networks in prime time.

Kansas City led all markets with a 4.6/8, followed by Portland, OR (3.8/9), Minneapolis (3.6/8), Fort Myers (3.4/6), Indianapolis (3.3/6) and Greensboro (3.3/5).

After two events this year, UFC on FOX is averaging a 2.3/4, with 4.0 million viewers, which is a +10% increase in households and a +11% increase in average audience over the two-event average from 2012. Among the main male demographics, UFC on FOX is up +8% in Males 18-34 (2.6 vs. 2.4), up +16% in Males 18-49 (2.9 vs. 2.5) and up +19% in Males 25-54 (3.1 vs. 2.6) over last year.

The next FOX UFC SATURDAY event airs Saturday, July 27 (8:00 PM ET) from KeyArena in Seattle.
