CBS SPORTS TEES UP GOLF DOUBLEHEADER WITH
PGA TOUR’S “ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS” AND CHAMPIONS TOUR’S
“LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE LEGENDS OF GOLF”ON APRIL 27-28
CBS Sports and the PGA TOUR head down to the Bayou this weekend with coverage of the ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS. CBS Sports broadcasts third- and final-round coverage on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET; both days), live from TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La. The tournament returned to TPC Louisiana in 2007 after extensive damage from Hurricane Katrina had moved the event to English Turn Golf and Country Club.
This weekend at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and for all PGA TOUR events this year, CBS Sports’ PGA TOUR coverage will be fully available time through live streaming. Visitors to CBSSports.com and PGATOUR.com will be directed to a co-branded video player to watch live streaming of Saturday’s and Sunday’s broadcasts. The live streaming also will be available on CBS Sports and CBS SportCaster applications for the iPhone, Android and iPad, as well as through a web-based player at m.cbssports.com.
Jim Nantz, three-time Emmy-Award winner and five-time National Sportscaster of the Year, now in his 28th year covering golf at CBS, serves as anchor of CBS Sports’ golf coverage. Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six majors and more than 40 tournaments worldwide, serves as lead analyst alongside Nantz in the 18th hole tower. Peter Oosterhuis calls the action at the 17th hole and Gary McCord at the 16th hole. Peter Kostis serves as on-course reporter. Lance Barrow is Coordinating Producer and Steve Milton is Director of CBS Sports’ golf coverage. Harold Bryant is Executive Producer and Vice President, Production, CBS Sports.
Jason Dufner two-putted from over 58 feet for birdie to beat Ernie Els on the second playoff hole and earn his first PGA TOUR title at last year’s Zurich Classic. Dufner returns to Avondale to defend his title in a field that includes nine major championship winners: Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley, Lucas Glover, Retief Goosen, Trevor Immelman, Justin Leonard, David Toms, Mike Weir and Els. They tee it up in a strong field that includes 14-year-old amateur Tianlang Guan playing with a sponsor’s exemption, along with Rickie Fowler, Justin Rose, Nick Watney, K.J. Choi, Jason Bohn, Andres Romero, Camilo Villegas, Charley Hoffman, Michael Thompson, Boo Weekley Rory Sabbatini, Ben Crane, Thorbjorn Olesen, Jeff Overton, Charlie Wi, Jerry Kelly D.A. Points and Johnson Wagner. Toms, a Shreveport resident and former LSU All-America, is making his 20th career start at the Zurich Classic. He won in 2001 and has three Top-10 finishes.

CBS Sports’ golf analyst Ian Baker-Finch will do double duty this weekend at the PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE LEGENDS OF GOLF as he competes in the Raphael Division and, after finishing play, provides analysis from the 18th tower CBS Sports broadcasts third- and final-round coverage on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday April, 28 (1:00-3:00 PM, ET; both days), live from Savannah Harbor Golf Resort in Savannah, Ga.
Bill Macatee and Matt Gogel call the action from the 18th hole tower with Baker-Finch joining them after his round. Billy Ray Brown provides analysis from the 17th hole tower and Billy Kratzert serves as on-course reporter. Jim Rikhoff produces and Bob Matina directs.
Michael Allen and David Frost take on an all-star Legends Division, which is an official 54-hole, two-man team, better-ball competition with no cut. Last year, Allen and Frost had a one-stroke victory over Ohio State teammates Joey Sindelar and John Cook. They return in a field that includes teams of Cook and Corey Pavin; Fred Couples and Jay Haas; Bernhard Langer and Tom Lehman; Steve Elkington and Rocco Mediate; Craig Stadler and Kirk Triplett; Andy North and Tom Watson; Tom Kite and Gil Morgan, Mark Calcavecchia and Peter Senior; Larry Mize and Hal Sutton; Mark O’Meara and Nick Price; Brad Faxon and Jeff Sluman; and John Jacobs and Fuzzy Zoeller.
The Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf is the second oldest event in senior golf with the oldest being the 74-year-old Senior PGA Championship.
