STAMFORD, Conn., April 25, 2013 –
WWE® (NYSE:WWE) today announced that WrestleMania 29, held Sunday, April 7 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, grossed in excess of $72 million, the highest grossing event in WWE history. In addition, WrestleMania 29 will once again exceed 1 million global pay-per-view buys and attracted a sold out crowd of 80,676 fans from all 50 states and 34 countries at MetLife Stadium.

New Orleans, Louisiana will be the site of next year’s WrestleMania, which will take place Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Ticket information will be announced later this year.

    i guest we will get rock vs cena 3 next year

  • Californiadgd

    or at Summerslam, MITB…

  • Joe Wilson

    @outlawz The Rock might be done with the WWE stuff, He has to have hernia surgery because of the WrestleMania ‘match’. Which will delay filming on two movies he is in

  • Joseph

    How about if Comcast buys WWE?

    Then, we could see as part of the deal a clause that dictates that the McMahon family would have nothing more to do with WWE after Wrestlemania 30.

    Thus, a storyline could be developed where Comcast’s Steve Burke “wrestles” WWE head Vince McMahon, with the “winner” getting “control” of WWE, and the loser forced to have nothing to do with it any more.

    Of course, Burke would “win”.

    (BTW, I fully expect a Comcast purchase of WWE within the next year since most of WWE’s TV shows aired on Comcast-owned networks and owning WWE would prevent a rival TV company from poaching it away)

    I’m not surprised at the numbers, but WM was a disappointment. The only GREAT match was Undertaker/CM Punk.

    I fully expect a Comcast purchase of WWE within the next year

    Do you also expect the sun to rise in the west and unicorn fart-powered vehicles next year as well?

  • Justin J. Poppiti, Esq.

    @outlawz: Highly unlikely.

    That’s awesome that Wrestlemania XXIX did so well.
