Vote In Our 4th Annual "Don't Save Their Show!" Poll

The silly season of meaningless "Save Our Show" polls from by entertainment sites (E! Online and USA Today among them) has begun!

Of course, those polls have no effect on any network decisions, but certainly give some fans the false hope that they're actually doing something to help their show.

If entertainment sites can spread false hope with their nonsense polls, maintaining the balance of the online TV universe* demands we spread false gloom with nonsense polls of our own!

In the 4th Annual** TV by the Numbers "Don't Save Their Show!" Poll you get to vote on which shows the TV networks should cancel instead of save!

There's only 22 hours in a broadcast primetime schedule (or 15, or 10), so every one of their shows that gets cancelled means more of a chance for your shows to get renewed (or so the logic of the desperate fan may suggest).

Included in the poll is every scripted broadcast primetime show (grouped by network) that either the Renew / Cancel Index or Bubble Watch has pegged as anything but renewed or cancelled already (plus the obviously canceled Smash, just for extra fun!)

Vote for as many shows as you'd like, as many times as you'd like!

I promise that the decisionmakers at the networks will give as much weight to your votes here as they do to the votes in all those silly "Save Our Show" polls: None!

*Not to mention generating traffic for us.

** Our readers picked Gossip Girl as the show they didn't want saved in last year's poll. It was ultimately renewed for a short final season, but, of course, our poll had nothing to do with it!

NBC has only renewed Football, The Voice, and The Sing Off.
ABC has only renewed college Football.
This has nothing to do with networks being good or not.
It’s just CBS and FOX had super boring renew/cancell indexes and pretty easy decisions. NBC does have a ton of bubble shows. And ABC is probably waiting to see how How to Live and Family Tools do before making decisions on The Neighbors and Suburgatory. They probably want to release the renewals all at once.

I didn’t see the comment by Just Desserts but obviously inappropriate language & hatred shouldn’t be tolerated.
As for the shows cancelled I too picked about 1/2 the list & I see 1600 Penn followed by Smash top the list.

Here’s the secret to keeping your fav show alive, you may of never thought of it, it’s so fantastical and amazing that you’d never even consider it, never in a million years ;)

    Well here it is.

(Amazing no? Who would of thought that watching a show live would keep it alive? :) )

Disclaimer: Most of this post is me joking around, the key point is highlighted in caps lock. As some people take posts literally here, I had to add this :)

I suspect this poll is sponsored by the Cancellation Bear, who will use the results to determine which show to devour and eat-up. ;)

I really wish Glee was an option….

  • Lucky

I think Smash needs to go away ASAP!

Last year ABC waited until Upfronts time to announce the renewal of all their shows. The easy renewals (Grey’s, Castle, Once Upon a Time, etc) were announced 5/10 while they waited until 5/11 to announce the renewals of more marginal shows (Scandal, Body of Proof, Happy Endings, etc).

The only NBC show renewed prior to may last year that I can remember was Grimm (in March).

“I suspect this poll is sponsored by the Cancellation Bear, who will use the results to determine which show to devour and eat-up. “

    Sponsored, yes!

The results being used? Of course not!

    @The End

WATCH IT LIVE only really applys to the 18 – 49 demo, as far as keeping a program on the air.

Those people who are younger than 18 and those individuals that are older than 49 don’t really mean that much to the advertisers, so they don’t mean that much to the networks.

If the network Has to choose between the show with the most total viewers Or the program with the highest 18 – 49 demo; they will select the program with the highest 18 – 49 demo in a nanosecond.

“Encourage any Nielsen household member you may possibly know to WATCH IT LIVE and hope your Nielsen doppelganger is WATCHING IT LIVE ;-)

“Oh look, TVBTN being their buzzkill selves”

Oh look TVBTN pointing out the futility of these Save Our Show Polls while posting their own one and going the extra step of admitting their’s is just as silly as the ones in the entertainment press.

Just cancel that FLOP Hannibal and be done with it before you make yourself a real laughing stock NBC.

    Too late!

    Carrie Diaries needs to go
    Golden Boy BUH BYE
Revenge is season 3 is gonna suck even more
    Red FLOPOW

I voted for Body of Proof and Happy Endings. These are the only shows I love that are in danger. Go On and Community are in a bad shape too, but I don’t think NBC will cancel them.

  • MW

Cancel Modern Family. That show became terrible about two and a half seasons ago.

(Yes, I realize that will never, ever, ever happen. But a guy can dream, can’t he?)

  • Michelle

This is awesome! And so hilarious. I’m spreading the word. ;)

  • Nerlie

This looks like fun..quite a few on this list that need to go :-)

  • Lisa

Hmm… I don’t see TV By The Numbers up there. I cast my vote for that. It’s so poorly written. Not sure if it’s supposed to be a comedy or a drama…

  • Holly

    And yet you keep coming…

  • Mark

It’s funny that TVBTN would call those Save our Shows “fluff” and “meaningless”…
It’s even funnier that this list is just like them.

“Oh look, TVBTN being their buzzkill selves”

“buzzkill” = reality check for the crazy
