American Idol April 25

via press release:

FAB FOUR SHOWDOWN - ROUND TWO!

THE “IDOL” LADIES HAVE ONE MORE WEEK TO BATTLE IT OUT

AS VOTES FROM APRIL 24 AND MAY 1 WILL BE COMBINED

TO DETERMINE THE TOP 3 FINALISTS

LIVE RESULTS SHOW WILL REVEAL THE NEXT PERFORMER TO GO HOME

THURSDAY, MAY 2

Tonight, it was announced that the final four contestants – Amber Holcomb, Angie Miller, Kree Harrison and Candice Glover – will all get another shot at performing for America next Wednesday, May 1 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. America’s votes from last night’s performance show will be combined with votes from next week’s performance show, giving them an extra week to WOW the judges and the viewers at home, to land a coveted Top 3 spot!

Thanks to AT&T, one of this week’s performance themes was a first for American Idol, because viewers were able to help determine what musical theme they would like to see on the show. The AT&T IDOL Theme was announced as “One Hit Wonders” and included such hits as “Cry Me  A River,” “MacArthur Park” and “A Whiter Shade of Pale.”

Don’t miss the live results show, Thursday, May 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), when the final three remaining female powerhouses will be revealed. Plus, Season 7 winner David Cook will perform his new single, “Laying Me Low.”

Also on tonight’s results show, Season 10 finalist Stefano Langone performed his new single, “Yes To Love” and Season Nine winner Lee DeWyze performed his new single, “Silver Lining.”

    Go Angie!

  • JR35

hardly a surprise since the save wasn’t used- and it was a top 10 this season, rather than a top 12. The finale still will air a week earlier than it usually does.

  • MVProductions44

Hopefully Candice can get herself together this week and wow like she has the previous weeks!

  • Melanie

    a surprise to no one . . . . . .

  • Scandalfan

I’ve never thought either one was going home last night, i knew the judges would’ve used their save for either one. Candice should win AI. Amber should be the one going home next week, can’t stand her whining voice.

  • Melanie

    @Scandalfan
I agree. I am mystified as to why Amber gets such praise from the judges. Of the four remaining, hers is the voice I like the least, and Candice’s is the one I like the most.

  • Kangarookeeper

The only surprise I want to see from this show is its cancellation.

  • Joseph

Otherwise, the “Idol” finale would have aired on May 8th and 9th; which would have left Fox with four hours to fill on May 15th and 16th (I have heard, but don’t know if it’s true, that the final “sing-off” between the last two Idols on May 15th would be a two-hour episode instead of the one-hour length previous final “Idol” sing-offs were)

  • AniMatsuri

Pretty lame. No one goes home this week because of how long the show is scheduled to run.

  • TV Gord

Way to drag out the season. It’s not so viewers get another performance from the final four. It’s about extending the season by a week to take advantage of May sweeps. How disingenuous.
