I’m VERY happy to see TVD adjust up. Too bad Elementary and Hannibal didn’t. Great news about The Originals too.

  • Paleonut

@thesnowleopard Well, we all know Lucifer burns cold…. ;-)

  • harry

    @ holly

    OK gunsmoke rule violation.
Season high for greys anatomy is 4.4 and season high for POI is 3.2

  • Carl

I guess the CW must be a little relieved as that was The Originals pilot. If they get around .08-1.0 for that show next season they will probably be happy.

Good for BBT. I wish Elementary had gone up but considering all the drops last night that’s not bad.

I’m happy SPN was the second-highest CW show this week (before anyone gives me examples of TVD being much higher-rated throughout the season, I’m not going to disagree with you – I’m just happy that the show proved some of its strength and durability again this week)

  • Holly

See, you can make a perfectly good comparison that proves your point. Stick to that instead of resorting to silly arguments.

Those CBS numbers make me cry, even if it was the Draft, etc, it’s still painful.

Also Grey’s seems to continue to lose traction, it won’t get canceled but the end will be approaching within a season or two. Scandal, fortunately, is here to take its place. Otherwise ABC would be crying hard.

  • Carl

Oops I hit submit too soon. I know the two were tied in the 18-49 demo, I just meant overall, SPN was a little higher.

  • Ultima

    OK gunsmoke rule violation.
Season high for greys anatomy is 4.4 and season high for POI is 3.2

Wasn’t it a question of popularity? Person of Interest certainly has a higher viewership average this season than Grey’s Anatomy (although that’s not as solid of a popularity indicator as it once was, it’s still valid).

  • Michael

Not a good night for NBC!

  • Melissa

In any case, I tried to point out to him months ago that Person of Interest would probably end up flat year-to-year, but he was having none of it. Seems odd, because being flat is still really good – when was the last time CBS had a drama that was up in its second season?

Yes, the show certainly had a good season. After all, even is the new up! ;-)

    Gunsmoke Rule Violation

But you can’t deny that Grey’s Anatomy’s prime ratings are far more impressive than Person of Interest’s best ratings, even relatively speaking.

  • Mary

but as you can not cancel B & B with 1.24 viewers? bad a show with mediocre actors!

  • Anna

I hope NBC sticks with Hannibal. Its an intriguing show!

  • Melissa

season high for POI is 3.2

Season high for Person of Interest is 3.4.

    @ Carl

I think the CW would be very disappointed if The Originals ended up getting .08 in the demo… ;)

  • omabin

Just win for you with your Sheldon reference, I laughed so much with the episode. BTW, I think this is the fist time I since you commenting on the actual content of a tv show, I only heard you talk about the ratings before.

  • fringegot5seasons

Grey’s prior ratings are much more impressive than PoI’s because Grey’s was airing before broadcast had lost another half of their viewers to cable.

Is there any show on broadcast besides TBBT (scripted) that comes anywhere close to the ratings of 10 years ago?

Grey’s, CSI, Desperate Housewives and all their chums had their time in the spotlight when ratings were higher in general. Now one of those whimpered out and the other two are nothing to write home about.

  • CrimTV

    @Richard Steven Hack

TVD always falls to 1.0-1.2 during Spring but is back to 1.2-1.6 in Fall-Winter

  • Carl

@chrisss, with TVD sliding a little this season and the network having so many problems in that timeslot, they may take .08. I know that wasn’t good enough with TSC, and this show is as expensive as TSC, but they seem to have lower expectations this season, and probably next season too.

The show could be a big hit (for the CW), I shouldn’t presume, but it just seems like a lot of fans are bored with some of that part of the story.

  • chrisss

    @ Carl

    I think you mean .8 not .08…

  • Richard Steven Hack

CrimTV: Probably true, I don’t follow its ratings that closely. Nonetheless I don’t see The Originals doing better than TVD, and I’m not sure TVD can survive more than one more season like this one. It’s only in season four, and I’m not sure it will see season six.

All on the TBBT Alphas joke: Azita Ghanizada (Rachel on Alphas) was amused by that, too. She tweeted about it.
