You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

TVD had a 1.1 this time last year

  • israelCD

Everything is getting SCREWED ! WTF with TV Shows !!!

  • TSC’s Revenge

TVD is suffering from a crap story line this bad Elena crap

Really?? Cause, I would take bad Elena over needy, whiney, Elena any day.  I agree that TVD has problems; however, I don’t think it centers around the evolution of the Elena character.

  • omabin

Why are so many people referring to this as Grey’s season low? It wasn’t! It hit a 2.6 for episode 17. Besides, there is a chance it is adjusted up, as that has often been the case in the past.

@@ViolaDeWynter You are aware that most people who pan The Following and like Hannibal tend to do so because they appreciate that the latter actually treats violence and death as having stakes whereas the former is a pathologically cynical show that treats death as a spectacle, right? People who are huge fans of the following and detractors of Hannibal are probably the same kind of people who used to line up to watch the poor and dissidents be torn up by animals in the Coliseum.

This may be the most accurate thing that I have ever heard.

  • brent

originals was officialy picked up. Also, batb and hod renewed as well

  • Beauty and the flop

@claudia flopkeller: talking about dvds isnt a sign of renewal lol. The tsc cast talked dvd and got cancelled, it even had the bloppers edited and released. Countless other shows too. But keep dreaming.

  • Dochas

…and the CW just picked up The Originals and renewed BaTB.

  • Noel

I HOPE for adjustments, specially at the hannibal snd elementary thing, its not like Scandal went super up.

  • Dochas

@TSCRevenge, I disagree. I think it has everything to do with Elena and also the so-called, poorly written triangle. None of the other 3 characters have been heavily used this year. Just the main 3 and all stories surrounding Elena. Elena’s humanity, Elena’s loss, Who does Elena love this week, What will Elena do tonight? All About Elena and it has not been good.

  • Melissa

Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie were just renewed by The CW (blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/the-cw-picks-up-beauty-and-the-beast-season-2-and-hart-of-dixie-season-3.html).

  • Amy

@ Dochas I just saw that on Hollywood Reporter. I’m hoping a renewal for BATB means TCD is canceled.

  • Beauty and the flop

@bizarro: lmao i dont give a crap about the secret flop, dumbie. But even tsc flop did better than your floppy batb, thats how much it sucks. Tsc had two 0.5s only then rose to . 6 in the finale. Batb? I lost count of the 0.5s it got. Do your homework. But why would you do it, batb fans are dumb.

  • Dochas

@Amy, I agree. With the exception of HoD, the CW seems to be moving in a different direction. I’m surprised they gave HoD another season honestly.

  • Jacob

Sad day for just about every TV show

  • TJ

I think TCD is dead. There was no reason not to announce its renewal today with the rest.

Elena’s humanity, Elena’s loss, Who does Elena love this week, What will Elena do tonight? All About Elena and it has not been good.

Perhaps the storyline has been too Elena centric.  I could agree on that; however, one could argue that TVD has largely been Elena centric from the start.   However, what had been asserted was since she is now *BAD*  that was the cause of downfall of TVD.  I disagree, I think that since Elena is now a vampire and the fact that she is now bad from time to time is probably to be expected.  BTW, ratings have been down across the board so I wouldn’t necessarily read too much into this weeks 0.9; furthermore, it is likely to adjust up 0.1.

Don’t worry too much…Hannibal still has a chance to bounce back up. And guys….EVERY SHOW except Scandal…….so this night shouldn’t be the same for the other nights because of this and the NFL draft….But if Hannibal is like this next week…..that’ll be bad.
