Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    John A: Nikita has hit .2 before. I wouldn’t be surprised if it does it this week. I won’t be surprised if it doesn’t, either. It’s only adjusted down a few times this season.

  • PJM

    I’m guessing Happy Endings and Grimm are down for the same reason: they’re younger shows that people watch more via DVR when they get home and neither got recorded last night because DVRs thought they were reruns.

  • David

    You have to applaud Blue Bloods for 10mil on a Friday. Yes I know they don’t matter but I still find it pretty astounding the amount of viewers it gets.

  • pink

    Do Nikita fans see Happy endings ratings? they got twice as many viewers and still got canceled.If Nikita were not on the crappy ass CW network,it would have been canceled by now.

  • DiegoC

    I’m a big fan of both, but at this level, nikita & happy endings should go to cancelville once for all. those ratings are too damn low!

  • kbmv

    I have never witnessed a show doing as bad as Nikita and continue to survive. It should’ve been cancelled last season. What a waste.

  • Richard Steven Hack

    I remind people of the term “syndication gods” used here…

    It’s pointless to rail about Nikita’s low ratings when the goal is syndication episodes.

  • katherine

    A couple weeks ago I would have been disappointed in Nikita’s viewership numbers (not important to renewal, I know, just in terms of wanting people to watch it). However this week I’m quite happy to see the numbers down. I hope they go down more. They’ll still get at least a short season 4, but meh.

    I’ve never had the writers completely ruin a show for me in such a small number of episodes before.

  • Mon

    The big question is will there be a cable network or local affiliate interested in buying Nikita.

  • Richard Steven Hack

    Mon: “The big question is will there be a cable network or local affiliate interested in buying Nikita.”

    Sigh… No that isn’t the “big question”. The goal is international syndication, not local, as I just pointed out above.

  • RandyL

    So Happy Endings is now getting lower ratings than Cougar Town did on TBS. If USA picks it up it might be getting .3 and .4’s or lower. Is it even worth it?

  • Ali

    grimm was a rerun.

  • thesnowleopard

    @John A

    Why not? It got a 0.2 last fall in the 9pm slot, so it’s not a series low, just a series low at 8pm.

  • thesnowleopard

    @Ali
    Not for most people, it wasn’t.

  • Freyja

    B&TB fans need to take a lesson in humility and don’t be obnoxious, you got your renewal be happy. No need to gloat and go in your face, it serves no purpose other than to be a dick. ;)

    Personally think they deserve the award for most annoying fanbase right now LOL

    But Saturday’s here are kinda boring without the competition of Fringe, Chuck, Grimm and SPN. It was fun to see which show came out on top, and we were never rude to each other.

    *sighs* the good ole days =) but happy that SPN moved to Wednesday’s where it gained in viewers and demos YAY!

  • Brian

    Blue Bloods is a joke..look at that demo! and CBS renewed that? LOL Funny!

  • thesnowleopard

    @Richard Steven Hack

    I think your constant references to international popularity that doesn’t exist for your favorite show, as well as your constant digs at the fans of other shows on the network that are doing much better and just got renewed, indicate you don’t actually know what you’re talking about. BatB may not be posting stellar ratings, even for the CW, but it’s still doing much better than Nikita and it’s guaranteed another season, which Nikita is not yet guaranteed because it has not been renewed. Hasn’t been canceled, either, but it’s still worse off than BatB. So, your snipes are pointless.

    So what if BatB may not see a third/fourth season? It will see a second one and its fans have every reason to be happy about that. For that matter, the odds of BatB seeing a third season are currently higher than those of Nikita getting a fifth season. Even if the syndication gods smile on Nikita, and it gets a full fourth season, there isn’t a justification in the world for the network or the studio to invest any further than that.

    “But Saturday’s here are kinda boring without the competition of Fringe, Chuck, Grimm and SPN. It was fun to see which show came out on top, and we were never rude to each other.”

    I don’t know what board you were on, but it sure wasn’t the one for TV by the Numbers. People were plenty rude to each other when SPN, Grimm and Fringe were going head to head, and I don’t just mean Bondoel.

    I also don’t see why some people are ragging on the BatB fans. While some of them have been overenthusiastic, I’d hardly put them in the top ranks of most obnoxious show fans on this board. And the show wasn’t posting especially dismal numbers compared to the rest of the network. It just wasn’t performing especially well after TVD. So, at least the BatB fans had a rationale for saying it should be renewed. I don’t even watch the show, but come on.

  • colt13

    I have to give credit to CBS. I don’t watch Undercover Boss, but couldn’t figure out how the show would last more than one season. But they are still winning their timeslot.

  • Freyja

    It was here the only person who was truly annoying was Bondoel other than that the rest were mild in comparison. ;)

    Nope, anyone who tells you to suck or goes in your face it’s annoying and deserves to be called out for it. I did the same for SPN fandom as well in the early days. ;)
