Tonight, Revenge returns after a three week hiatus. The primetime soap has had a rocky sophomore season. Its most recent episode, which aired on Easter Sunday, scored a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating, The prior week it earned a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating. ABC just unofficially confirmed the show will be back for a third season with the announcement that series creator Mike Kelly will be stepping down as showrunner at the end of the season. So will Revenge get its mojo back tonight? Make your prediction, then quip about it Nolan-style in the comments.

I hope it can manage at least a 1.7, any lower is not really good considering a huge 2 hour finale has been advertised. I also read Mike Kelley was practically forced to step down because he wanted just 13 episodes per season and ABC demanded 22 and they fell out over the whole thing..

    @Bright

Now ratings for V, Brothers&Sisters, Desperate Housewives and Pan Am don’t feel that bad, huh? They all should have been given one more chance

    No.

The V series finale in 2011 was in the high 1′s. Had it continued, it would be doing awful right now.

Brothers & Sisters averaged a 2.2 in the 2010-11 season, and it was declining ~20% per year. Had it been airing now, it would likely be averaging in the low 1′s.

Desperate Housewives would’ve been able to manage low 2′s this year, but the production costs were probably becoming too large to make a viable profit.

Pan Am dipped all the way down to a 0.7 in February!

I am going to say ratings that wont happen but i love both once and revenge…so i predict (based on what i would like /not happening)
    Once upon a time 3.0
    Revenge 2.4

  • Nerdbot

Finally a Revenge post! I hope it gets 2.0 but I’ll be more realistic and say 1.7-1.8

  • BH

I used to watch this show. I don’t anymore.Although I hope it hits 2.0 tonight.

  • chrisss

I want it to get a 1.4 (half of Scandal’s last rating) as the reactions would be pretty hilarious…

  • harry

Last year DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, which indeed was a real huge hit , aired against grammys as well and got
    Episode 08-13: Sunday, 02/12/12
    1.8 in the demo

ABC did not learn from their mistakes adn this year they did the same to Revenge which got a 1.4 versus the grammys and Once upon a time got 2.2 and since then the shows are struggling . Revenge recovered to a 2.0 at some point while Once stabilized at 2.2-2.3… they also made things even worse this year airing those 2 shows against semifinals of Superbowl. And then they had 2x 3-4 weeks hiatuses …

Someone must fire that schedule manager , right here , right now!

  • russell

I’m think around a 1.8 or 1.9, if it does any worse it’ll be sad.

  • Bee

    not great.

it’s coming off a huge break and there was barely any good promotion from what i saw. there’s again just a 20-second promo (W T F!!!!!) and idk when they started airing it.

    i’ll say 1.6.

  • brad

    @crhisss,

No one but Max cares about Scandal vs Revenge. Two different shows, two different nights. Grow up.

  • Patrick Gillease

I guess 1.8, though I think “REVENGE” will head back up into the 2′s as the season finale approaches and fans realize the episodes are all new through May sweeps now. Glad to hear creator Mike Kelly has been fired by ABC. He really took the show off the rails this year! The Initiative plot needs to be wrapped up, Aiden needs to go back to Australia, and the focus needs to return to Emily, Daniel, Jack, Nolan and the core Greyson family “revenge.” I think the show should be moved back to Wednesdays at 10pm, too. It was nice to have an entire night of ABC to watch on that night. Now, I have to stop at 9:30pm.

  • Liam

    Revenge: 1.7 to 1.8.
    ONCE: 2.2 to 2.3.
    TGW: 1.7 to 1.8.

  • Fred

On the plus side both Revenge and OUAT have improved creatively (varying degrees)for the last several episodes.
And both look like they are going to be strong eps tonight.
Now with the negative. Millions of ex fans gave up on these shows early this season . Serialized shows have a difficult time enticing viewers to return . The weather is gorgeous for most of the country at this time. People tend to watch less tv nowadays .
    1.8 Revenge but hoping for a 2.0+.
2.1 OUAT but praying for more.

Really enjoy both shows very much , despite the inconsistent season.

  • Patrick Gillease

@ Melissa…but the spring 2011 ratings for “V” were actually on par with the spring ratings the show had in 2010. In some caes, they were actually better. “V” would have been a good show to continue in 13 episode bursts to fill in between the DWTS seasons, as it was doing. It outperformed “The River” and everything else ABC has tried in the Tuesday slots since then. Paul Lee canceled “V” just because it was a pet project of his predecessor, whom ABC fired over a sex scandal disgrace. The series was just getting good when it was canceled. Pity it wasn’t on NBC again. “V” would still be airing if it was!

  • Joseph

I agree with those stating that revenge should be moved back to 10. Here, in Ireland it’s on at 10 on a Tuesday night and it servs as a spectacular midweek guilty pleasure and is one of the biggest shows here and is number one for the network it airs on, which is the second biggest in the country. I definitely think its like scandal and should be broadcast as a midweek guilty pleasure

  • Lukes

It will stay between the two last ratings (extremes included)

  • Fred

    I miss V as well.

  • Fred

    Also Desperate Housewives and B&S

  • Justin121

Anything above 1.6 will be good.

ABC (and the Initiative!) killed this show, though it’s back to basics.

  • Bright

@Melissa, I get your point but I disagree.

About V, I agree with @Patrick Gillease, although I know nothing about sex scandal. I Think it would keep it’s numbers at least one more season.

About Desperate Housewives, I know it was expensive, but it was also one of the biggest gainers per ad. Also I think ABC might me gaining more money from a expensive show in it’s 2′s than a cheaper one doing middle 1′s (but I can´t know that for sure).

Probably Brothers & Sisters shouldn’t beeing kept until this season, but a final season last year would have been nice and the numbers as I said would not be ‘that bad’ compared with actual numbers from shows nowadays.

Pan Am bombed last year, as everybody nows, bad scheduling, against award shows, etc. If it would be in another timeslot and being taken care more carefully scheduling (I don’t if this is correct in English, sorry, it’s not my language), it would had keep at 1’8 ~ 1’6, decent numbers right now.

Anyway, thanks for your comment, I appreciate your opinion.
