via press note:

This graph shows how THE FOLLOWING’s viewership stacks up when you look at its performance across all of its major viewing platforms. Live+7 data is only available from Nielsen through its 4/8/13 episode (so this chart only reflects data through that date), but the show is averaging 17.14 million viewers per episode when you look at the full picture.

In Live+7 DVR ratings alone, the show is seeing a +48% average gain per episode this season.

    ooooh… a graph!

    This show is so AWESOME! I have to record it and watch the next day because it scares the crap out of me. Last night’s season finale was off the hook!!

  • Holly

    I love when they do these graphs because it gives actual numbers for online viewing and shows how few people are really watching online or On Demand, especially compared to Live+SD. Twice as many viewers watched reruns on TV than watched online.

  • MichaelChickless

    People just like Bacon!

  • @Holly
    The streaming only mentions Fox.com and not Hulu.com or any other legal streaming site. Probably wouldn’t make a difference anyway.

  • John

    This show is great. I laugh more watching this show than any comedy this year. Keep it up “Stupidity”.

  • Simon

    @… Look at the picture again; the key for yellow reads Streaming (Fox.com & Hulu)

    @ Holly

    I know right, maybe I can take this graph to my anti establishment acquaintances that claim traditional TV is dead. I dont know about you guys but I prefer watching something on TV rather than having to deal with sub-par quality streaming.

  • Holly

    @…

    The picture I see doesn’t include all the text from the image, and the last one (for the premiere) included Hulu, so it seems reasonable to assume it is included here.

    If “The Following” is averaging 17 million with all this added in, what does “NCIS” go up to?

  • Fynn

    @ Holly

    “I love when they do these graphs because it gives actual numbers for online viewing and shows how few people are really watching online or On Demand, especially compared to Live+SD.”

    It is true much less people watch online but I wonder if those watching online tend to have a higher percentage of 18-49 or 18-34. Obviously its a cliche that only young people use the internet to watch television, but especially with university students for instance it wouldn’t surprise me if many used the internet to watch their television shows.

  • Holly

    @Fynn,

    Part of the problem with online viewing is that currently there is no way to say who is watching, so we don’t what demographics would benefit.

  • Michael

    Can you do that for Grey’s, Revenge and Scandal?

  • rgxx

    Bacon is the New Sutherland

  • Melissa

    @Michael

    Can you do that for Grey’s, Revenge and Scandal?

    TV by the Numbers didn’t make this graph, FOX did.

  • NJ Viewer

    Looks like we’ll be seeing copycat versions of this from the other networks soon.
