Now if only they gave them the respect of being televised. If the networks cared they would find a way to honor their daytime talent on tv.

  • Tyson

The ratings sucked the last several years broadcast networks aired the Daytime Emmy Awards. Networks care about money. Be glad HLN agreed to televise the show. Otherwise, you’d be begging for a web stream.

  • Melanie P.

I think this will air on HLN again. Soaps have declined over the years and they did air them on one of the main channels a couple of years ago, but the ratings for it weren’t that great. Glad to see Julie Marie Berman getting a nod. I miss her as Lulu on GH!

  • JR35

There are so few programs eligible in the drama category, that those have lost any specialness to them.

And- OLTL 9and AMC) could be nominated in the category next year. :)

  • Jeff

Total joke this year (even more so than normal). Y&R, which was a disaster leads the nominations? All 5 soaps nominated?

Heather (BEST OVERACTRESS OF ALL TIME) Tom gets her 100th nomination? Peggy McCay? But, no actress from GH (FINOLA HUGHES????)

Overact sisters Julie and Melissa as supporting actresses? And, Jessica Collins??????

Mr. Overrated (Bradford Anderson) and Scott Clifton for supporting?
Lindsey “let me screech every line” Morgan got a nomination?

The only bright spots were seeing OLTL get nominated for having a better 2 weeks before it was wrongly cancelled than the rest of the soaps had all year, and Kristen Alderson finally get a nomination.

  • Jeff

Also, I think KKL for finally get a nomination is a bright spot, but she should have been in lead category.

  • TimsDale4ever

Thrilled for the outstanding drama nod for OLTL as that show was simply OUTSTANDING in 2011/12, although since they left the air on 01/13/12 I would have thought they would not have been included in the judging period which I thought was between 3/12 to 3/13. Maybe the qualifying time frame has changed.

  • Mike

So proud for Katherine Kelly Lang finally getting a nom. Hope she wins.

I hope Susan Flannery picks up another final win too. She was great.

I hope B&B pulls Best Show.

Happy that Katie got her first nom for Best Talk Show.

  • Ray-El

I’ve lost all respect for these award shows. Clearly, there is more politics at play than there is any concern for who was actually the best.

Jason Thompson and Bradford Anderson were nowhere near the best of the year…even on their own shows! And Lindsey Morgan was absolutely awful, which is why she’s no longer on GH.

Bree Williamson should have been nominated for her last few weeks as Jessica Buchanan on OLTL. And Kelly Sullivan should have been nominated for playing Kate and Connie on GH. Those two ladies gave some of the most stunning performances of the last year. Seeing Bree leave daytime without an Emmy is a travesty of justice and a mar on the daytime Emmys that they will never be able to live down in my book.

OLTL won’t win for best writing or best drama series, but they deserve it because the last year of that show was some of the best television I’ve seen in years, and that includes daytime and primetime.
