The new comedy Family Tools premieres tonight on ABC. ABC's most recent addition to its Wednesday night line up, How To Live With Your Parents... got off to a surprisingly strong start a few weeks ago, but it had the benefit of following ABC's highest rated show, Modern Family. Family Tools takes over a timeslot previously occupied by Suburgatory which earned a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating for its season finale. How do you think Family Tools will do tonight?

  • Pavelsauce

I’m interested in it, but I don’t think it’d do all that well. I would say 1.8 at most.

  • TJ

Only 3,000 likes on Facebook is a good indication that it will flop. Malibu Country had 150,000 before it premiered. HTLWYPFTROYL had 60,000. It may not be ratings but it’s a good indication of to which shows will be popular.

Can’t image it will do great. It’s a show I’ll have a look at, but it seems like an awful silly time time of the year to be launching a new comedy, or any other ongoing show for that matter. How do you find and keep an audience for this when all the shows around it are closing in on their season finales?

  • BenA

    1.4, 6 million viewers

  • CBSviewer

  • John A

    1.4 at best.

  • Samunto

    It looks horrible and tired.

  • Niki

I never heard about this show. Must have been well promoted.

  • Mark

    The Middle – 2.2
    The Family Tools – 1.4
    Modern Family – 4.1
    How to Live…Parents…Life – 2.5

  • JJF

Probably a 1.4 to start. The Middle’s numbers haven’t been strong and this just doesn’t look funny.

  • alexjones

why the hell are they premiering it this late?

I think it will get 1.8 – 1.9 because probably want to see what it is. But when they will realize it’s not funny the Show will fall.

  • Fourat

    Cuz it’s a bad show?

I’ve seen several promos and I seldom watch live TV. I was actually surprised they were so heavily promoting a show that’s debuting at the start of May and is presumably dead.

This seems like another Paul Lee comedy with a goofy brash sense of humour.

No idea what it will rate. 1.4 perhaps? The promos didn’t make it look good.

  • NBC Fan

    The Middle-2.0
    The Family Tools-1.5
    Modern Family-3.6
How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)-2.2

    Criminal Minds-2.8

    American Idol-3.1

    The Voice-2.0
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit-1.8
    Chicago Fire-1.7

The only thing that’s making me DVR this tonight is Leah Remini. But that still doesn’t mean I’ll watch it.
Premiering the first week of May. DOA. But will get a 1.4-1.6 solely based on the fact that it’s a premiere sandwiched in between the middle and modern family, but next week will probably fall to a 1.1 or lower.

Leah Remini please find an ABC comedy that you can be the lead. You’re so talented and hilarious. But this show isn’t it.

  • Stop the Flop

I’ll be shocked if this ends up being a hit.
