VIDEO: SUMMER LINE-UP

Kicking off the night, “Hot In Cleveland” is delivering a special event in scripted programming with a LIVE broadcast at 10pm ET. Now in its fourth season, “Hot In Cleveland” has seen some major shake-ups in storylines this year. Melanie (Bertinelli) went to work for a PR firm where she started dating her boss Alec (Jay Harrington), Victoria (Malick) got a lead part in a Woody Allen movie and started dating A-list actor Sir Emmet Lawson (Alan Dale), and Joy (Leeves) went back to school to pursue a career in criminology. Meanwhile, Elka (White) and her BFF Mamie Sue (Georgia Engel) are pursuing their own mysterious business that may or may not be entirely legal. In the summer season, all these stories and more come to a head as one of the ladies finds herself embroiled in scandal. On top of the much anticipated LIVE premiere, “Hot In Cleveland” recently made headline news when the female cast members of “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” reunited in an episode set to air September 4th. These women join the exciting list of celebrity guest stars that includes Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family”), Michael Urie (“Ugly Betty”) and another notable reunion – “The Carol Burnett Show” stars Carol Burnett and Tim Conway.

Then, at 10:30pm ET/PT, “The Exes” returns for a third season. At one point unwillingly thrown together, the unlikely trio of Phil (Faison), Haskell (Knight) and Stuart (Basche) has finally found bromance. Stuart has started dating after his divorce, Phil’s client list is ever-expanding, Haskell’s starting to get his game back, and Holly (Johnston) is still trying to find Mr. Right. Guest stars like Diedrich Bader (“The Drew Carey Show”), Lisa Ann Walter (“The Parent Trap”) and Leslie Jordan (“Will & Grace”) add significant twists and laughs to this season’s already hilarious storylines.

Ending the night at 11pm ET/PT is “The Soul Man,” coming back with a comedy nightcap! In the new season, Cedric will return to the format that catapulted him to superstardom – stand-up comedy. At the end of each episode, he’ll perform a two-minute set in front of the studio audience relating back to that week’s show. “The Soul Man” follows R&B superstar-turned-minister Reverend Boyce “The Voice” Ballentine (Cedric) after he relocated to St. Louis with his wife Lolli (Nash). Now, they have a new addition to their household in the form of Stamps (Jonathan), Boyce’s brother, as they continue to adjust to a completely new life.

Hopefully The Soul Man doesnt become this years Retired at 35

  • Matt

Still no Happily Divorced renewal? Although it does seem likely now that they are running their other 3 comedies together. Maybe HD and a new comedy in the fall?

  • Michael

I’m going to assume that “Happily Divorce” will be cancelled, an announcement will be made soon. Which is strange, since Hot In Cleveland was only a tenth higher in the ratings, and renewal announcement was made quickly after the season finale, which was like 2 months ago.

  • Damiker

Can’t wait… Love “The Exes”, funniest show on tvland.

  • Luis

According to its real FB Page Happily Divorced was already renewed for a third season. Check the video section, there is the announcement.

  • Matt

Luis – that announcement was from April 2012. Originally Happily Divorced was renewed for a third season yes, but that was then wrapped into the second season which was only originally supposed to be like 13 episodes and wound up being a full season.

  • RJ

I’m surprised to see The Exes in the post-Cleveland timeslot. I would have assumed TVLand was more into The Soul Man, but it appears not. Good for The Exes, a truly funny show!
