Supernatural was the top broadcast show on GetGlue, and Game of Thrones was the top cable show for the week of April 22-28.  Remember: a show's social media popularity does not correlate to its renewal prospects and/or actual ratings.

I see Orphan Black is on the cable list. That’s a pretty good show.

  • A&E should pick up Hannibal and air it with Bates Motel. :) (Both also have similar total activity at GetGlue)

These numbers have any influence on Renewal or cancelation ?

It may not correlate with renewal, but coincidentally – the three CW shows that received the early-early renewals and have the best ratings are the CW shows that make this list consistantly.

Love to see Orphan Black, Defiance, and Vikings on the list. They’re all great shows.

People need to take a Statistics class. These numbers absolutely correlate with renewal. 9 of the 10 scripted broadcast shows are certain to be renewed or already renewed. If you looked at the 10 least social shows, they are probably all cancelled or certain to be cancelled. Being highly social is clearly a good, although not perfect, indicator of being renewed. That is the definition of correlation. And needless to say it is not the same thing as causation. We have established on this site that social numbers are not causation, but they are correlation.

Those Top shows on both sides – GOT and Supernatural are two of my all-time favorite shows. Best of the best.

People really need to give Hannibal a chance. I watch it every week, (I’ve even tracked down the full omitted episode) and think it is one of the most well scripted, visually striking shows i’ve seen. Let people binge view season one on netflix or whatever they use, and i promise a ratings bump with season 2. I mean what else does NBC have going for it?

  • Wright

    Good for SPN and TVD!!!

  • CG

I agree TJ, Hannibal is wildly popular online and that is going to cause it to build in ratings in season 2. Just last night while the 5th episode was on I saw a ton of people on twitter talking about how they were watching the 1st episode. This show just needs more time! (And a better timeslot wouldn’t hurt. It’s current one is awful.)
