Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2013 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • Cougar Town Forever

I think this weeks 0.5 has locked Smash for renewal!

  • Dennis

How low will OUAT and Revebge go tonight?? :D

  • ChipL

Wow, “Smash” up to a 0.5. I smell six seasons and a movie. Er, a Broadway show.

  • Darkridedan

The come beat up on Smash thread has been cancelled (this week)

  • Oliver

I guess baby gambling won’t be returning next season :(

  • AniMatsuri

Looks like Smash has hit rock bottom then. It was only beat out by Cops this time around.

  • Dan S

With these sad numbers how much longer will the nets bother to schedule primetime on Saturdays ? Unless they have a live sports event I could easily see the local affiliates taking back Saturdays in the near future.

  • Brandy

    Yay for Smash

  • Kate Sims

Isn’t “Bet on your Baby” just a summer fill in? I really do not believe it is a show that will catch on with regular viewers. If ABC would promote it’s better shows and stop bringing in shows like this, it might do better on a regular basis. Maybe, we will hear this week what shows they have decided to renew for fall. Malibu Country is my favorite and if it is renewed, I hope they promo it. They did very little and I mean very little to help the show pick up viewers.

    @ Amanda

    48 Hours got a 1.0 at 10PM. The repeat got a 0.6.

  • CBSviewer

    @ Amanda

So 48 Hours is up a tenth and not down three tenths.

  • Stop-Colin-Me

What would happen if a network took one of it’s best shows and began airing it on Saturdays? Would it crash and burn, or would it be able to forever change Saturday nights ratings? Look at Fridays. ABC put scripted programs back on Friday’s and they did moderately well. Could they do the same to Saturdays, or are Saturdays too busy for people. Saturday ratings are so low because the shows on Saturdays are little to not advertised at all, and shows with a smaller fanbase in the first place.

  • Fred

Back in the days Saturday used to be a legitimate night of TV Programing.
Love Boat and Fantasy Island come to mind.

  • John A

    Go 48 Hours.

  • Jan

    and Carol Burnett!

  • John A

Yay for Smash at 0.5? LMAO

  • Eric

It’s sad when an episodes of Cops beats out Smash in the demo. lol

  • Michael

Even the main star of Smash (Katherine Mcphee) doesn’t acknowledge the show.

  • Rick in Denver

    @ Stop-Colin-Me

Back in the 70’s the nets had hit shows on Saturday nights…. The Carol Burnett Show, Love Boat, Fantasy Island…. how times have changed. Also us “older” viewers aren’t considered for the ratings. Smash was great last night, sorry it see it ending, a class show which is extremely entertaining.

  • Danak

Smash was outstanding last night. I’m sorry to see it ending but this season seems to be hitting its stride creatively at this point.
