This is the final week of Renew / Cancel Index posts for the season, since the Fall 2013 broadcast TV schedules will be announced during the network upfront meetings next week, so as is our custom, Robert and I play Oddsmakers (hat tip, PTI) with our final renewal chance guesses of the season.

Our final guesses of RENEWAL chances:

    Robert Bill
Cleveland Show, The Fox 0% 0%
Touch Fox 0% 0%

5/9 Update: Touch has been canceled.
In what's a recurrent (and boring) theme for our final guesses, Robert and I have no significant differences in our final Fox predictions. However, your guesses may be quite different, let us know in the comments.

To address the picky commenters out there who'll otherwise whine "You just give percentages, you never make an up or down call!", please take all of my guesses above 50% as "will be renewed" and those below 50% as "will be canceled" and you may interpret the "distance" from 50% as my level of confidence in the prediction.
For those who'd like to review the last Renew / Cancel Index numbers I'll produce for the season, enjoy:

Our Renew / Cancel Index predicts potential renewal or cancellation for scripted broadcast primetime shows by the end of the 2012-13 season in May, 2013. (includes results from December 31, 2012- May 5, 2013):

Program Status Renew/ Cancel Index

Touch (F) 0.37
Fringe* (F) final season complete 0.50
Ben And Kate* canceled 0.60
The Cleveland Show no more eps to be produced 0.74
Raising Hope* renewed 0.80
The Mindy Project renewed 0.82
Bob's Burgers renewed 1.00

Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. This season you can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.

From now through the end of the broadcast season in May, the Renew/Cancel Index values will only be calculated using new episodes airing during 2013. However, until new episodes of a show air in 2013, the "old" Fall predictions will carry over.

  • - certain to be cancelled by May, 2013
  • - more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2013
  • :| :| :| - toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2013
  • :) :) :) :) - more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2013
  •     - certain to be renewed by May, 2013

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

  • Dan

Yeah, I think everyone is in agreement to these two guesses. No brainer

  • American

FOX predictions boring. Eh, there you go!

  • frodo

    Both of these are goners.

  • SJ

    The Cleveland Show – 0%
    Touch – 0%

    That was easy! :D

  • TV Addict

I actually love the Cleveland Show. It will be missed.

  • dralanforce

    come on touch, survive!!! xD
i give it 5% to a cable channel pick it up!

  • MichaelChickless

Cleveland canceled, Touch to FX. ;-) :-)

  • Wright

Sad that Touch doesn’t do better. I watched the first season, but had too many shows and had to give it up.

  • rob60990

    lol how boring.

  • Dan

The real question is will The Cleveland Show ever be “officially” cancelled or will FOX keep saying “No additional episodes at this time”

  • Iggy

I watch them both… that is, I will watch them in the Summer.

  • Rebecca

It’s a shame about Touch, season 1 was good but they changed the entire show with season 2. I like Kiefer but I wouldn’t be devastated if Touch were cancelled.

  • TV Viewer

I wonder if Fox ever televise the new episode of The Cleveland Show that was scheduled to air on Sun. May 5, but, was preempted by NASCAR over run. Not that it means much since the show was “cancelled” a few weeks ago. All they have to really show is the series finale, where Cleveland Brown moves from Stoolbend, VA back to Rhode Island and Family Guy.

  • Kris

just cancel cleveland. put it out of its misery.

  • TVLog

Touch is Telenovela! The Cleveland Show is better show than Bob Burgers and Glee! Since Cops is moving Spike TV! Maybe The Cleveland Show goes The Cartoon Network! Fox might broadcast The Cleveland Show in Mountain and West coast time on May 5 2013~ Hulu Plus offers me viewing show! Hulu might be next stop for The Cleveland Show!

  • Tom Shaw

    Touch 0%
Cleveland Show, The 20% (But not for the 13/14 season. For 14/15. It’s probably already too late to make episodes for next season, but if everything fails on Sunday, and with The Simpsons ending, I think there’s a slim chance Fox revives it for a small (13-ish) order for insurance in Fall of 14 or Spring 15.)

  • The End

Almost a 120 percent certainty that Touch will be announced as cancelled in the next 7 days.

  • Ultima

    @TV Viewer
I wonder if Fox ever televise the new episode of The Cleveland Show that was scheduled to air on Sun. May 5, but, was preempted by NASCAR over run

It’s already been rescheduled for this Sunday at 7pm.

  • Jonay

Can FOX still renew The Cleavland show for the FOX Saturday night comedy block?

  • Dan

@Jonay – No, production for animated shows takes way longer so even if the show were to be renewed new episodes wouldnt air until January 2014 at the earliest.
