ABC’S NEW MURDER MYSTERY COMPETITION,

“WHODUNNIT?,” PREMIERES SUNDAY, JUNE 23

Names of the 13 Guests Vying for $250,000 Prize Revealed

Gildart Jackson Hosts Series as the Mansion Steward, Butler Giles

What do a former NFL cheerleader, a bounty hunter, a nurse and a flight attendant all have in common? They’re all putting their investigative skills to the test along with nine other guests in the new murder mystery competition, “Whodunnit?,” premiering SUNDAY, JUNE 23 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

“Whodunnit?” is an interactive series that puts 13 amateur slueths’ investigative skills to the test in a riveting mystery reality competition. Players will use a variety of crime scene investigation techniques to meticulously uncover evidence in a series of puzzling murders and to ultimately reveal who among them is the killer. Some players will form alliances in the competition, while others will choose to go it alone in their quest for the grand prize of $250,000. The contestants will be guests on a glamorous estate called Rue Manor with a steward, Butler Giles (Gildart Jackson), and each week must solve a new crime in order to advance in the game. Failure to solve the crime will lead to a player’s demise, until only three are left. In the final episode, one player will unmask the killer and take home the $250,000 prize.

British actor Gildart Jackson hosts “Whodunnit?,” playing Rue Manor’s resident steward, Butler Giles. Jackson has appeared in various television series, including “Charmed” (Gideon) and ABC’s “General Hospital” (Simon Prentiss.) He recently starred in the critically acclaimed feature film “YOU,” opposite Brenda Strong and Allison Mach, directed by his wife, Melora Hardin (NBC’s “The Office.”)

I am excited about potentially another ‘smart’ reality show, but this is gonna struggle to even get a 1 in the demo.

  • zerg

    WHODUNNIT seriously?

  • Chris

And this is different from The Mole how exactly?

  • Ultima

    @Chris
And this is different from The Mole how exactly?

In The Mole, the person they were trying to uncover was one of the players. This sounds a lot more like Murder in Small Town X.

“Players will use a variety of crime scene investigation techniques […] to ultimately reveal who among them is the killer.”

A remake of The Mole it is!

  • Ultima

In my defense, the last press release had made it sound more like MISTX than The Mole and I just didn’t bother to read this one. ;)

  • Owen

This should had better be awesome or terrible. I will be happy with either. Just as long as it’s not “meh”.

  • Nick

They should have just brought back The Mole.

  • ZmaX

I love murder mysteries and I loved The Mole back in the day (and that reboot they did a while back) I’ll definitely check this out. It’ll be good summer fluff :)

  • Kurt

This just has low ratings written all over it. If it weren’t Summer filler, I’d predict it would get yanked after 5 episodes.

  • JoshuaCanada

The show sounds okay but my god, that title is horrible

  • Ccemerson

Why does ABC use 720p and not 1080p ??? Off topic I know. Sounds blah to me I’ll stick with my summer reality on CBS Big Brother ‘!!! Plus has Love in the Wild on NBC been renewed for summer ???

  • Survivor Fan

The Mole is the second best show of all-time (behind Survivor). I hope that this is comparable.

    @ccemerson

No, but not officially canceled yet. If it will come back, I would expect to hear about its future by next Monday (NBC Upfront).

  • Jamie

This show sounds interesting. I’ll for sure check it out.

  • MichaelChickless

    Whowillwatchit?

  • ChipL

NBC had a show a thousand years ago called “Whodunnit?” Ed McMahon was the host and F. Lee Bailey was one of the lawyers that the three contestants could call on for advice after they watched film clips of a fictional murder mystery. I somehow recall it being pulled after only a few episodes.

I’m glad someone is trying to come up with another show with the same title, because the title is just awesome.

  • karin

I would love to be on this show. So going to watch it .

  • Aok

They tried something like this in the 70s. It tanked after a few weeks
