Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    MF and the middle should be put during the same hour… Bump up MF to 8:30 or push the middle to 9 and MF to 9:30… MF will have viewers no matter what time

  • Mi

    Arrow was amazing last night. It was my favorite episode to date.

  • Samunto

    The Voice didn’t affect Idol that much though head to head The Voice won. But i had expected atleast a 3.

    How to live will probably be back next season.

  • Chuck_T

    The Voice gave a nice boost to SVU.

  • Ultima

    @Billy
    What a terrible night. Everything down.

    Except for Survivor, Criminal Minds, CSI, Law & Order SVU and Chicago Fire, all of which were up, and the CW, which was flat.

    :roll:

  • Skylar James

    @Matt: ABC need a show that is a self starter, so that is why The Middle leads their lineup

    In the head to head, the Voice beat Idol in the common hour. Idol won the night because it grew at 9PM and 930PM

  • Seth

    Outstanding for American Idol. This show still has a good 6-7 seasons left in it.

  • Zth

    The Voice beat American Idol by 2 tenths in the 8-9 hour.

  • jackson

    ok so did anyone watch NASHVILLE last night. i really liked the episode but the promo for the season finale… what was up with that? so dramatic “one person is forced to murder another” or something like that.
    it reminded me of a Melrose Place promo from the 90s. Dee Johnson is exec producer of NASHVILLE and she was also on Melrose Place. I really thought it was just a matter of time before Nashville started being juicy and crazy like Melrose

  • David

    How did Survivor went up when The Voice is also airing at that time? That’s impressive.

  • Cyrax86

    Terrible for ABC. How To Live… would die instantly when moved away from MF. And it only has 13 episodes so they should cancel it!

  • Oliver

    I wouldn’t be surprised if ABC pull the next 2 episodes of Family Tools and replace them with repeats, pushing the series into summer.

  • Max Vrany

    @Seth, anything beyond 1 or (maybe!) 2 seasons is just guessing. Too much is up in the air.

  • Mon

    CSI did well. The episode was better than last week’s. CBS should watch last night’s Criminal Minds. They’ll make up their mind not to lose AJ Cook. The Middle, while hit lows, held up ok against three reality show giants.

  • Zth

    @Seth:

    Are you okay? What you’re saying doesn’t make musch sense.

  • Samunto

    It’s crazy how 3 of you in a row copied and pasted Marc’s numbers!

    @seth. You’re funny!
