With Fire

Nikita and The Carrie Diaries have both been renewed by The CW. The Carrie Diaries is returning for its second season and Nikita is returning for its fourth season.

Update:  It looks like Nikita will be returning a shortened fourth season – reports are for 6 episodes and hopefully episode count will be confirmed by CW’s upfront presentation next Thursday

Seriously? CW renews “The Carrie Diaries” but doesn’t pick up “The Selection”?

  • Greg

I guess this means America’s Next Top Model will not be airing in the fall.

  • Charmed

Haters let us TCD fans have our moment!

  • brent

SO… obviously some of their shows are going to be pushed to the summer right?
picked up 5 pilots, renewed 7 tv shows, and then they have their random reality shows like ANTM too.
I personally could see TCD & HOD (maybe even BATB and NIK)getting moved to the summer along with ANTM

Then my schedule for fall would look like this:

    THE 100-9

    Star Crossed-8
    BATB- 9

    The Tomorrow People-9

    The Original-9

    Repeats or ANTM-9

    I guess Reign for Midseason

why the hell would they renew such low rated shows but they didnt renew a higher rated show tsc last year what a joke the cw is

  • WHugoP

Suck it Haters! i’m so glad, this made my day.

The last thing they will hear before the end… will be my Name!

  • Ultima

Are you kidding me? They’re going to renew Nikita which is getting 0.2s yet they couldn’t give 90210 a proper send off season? This network is absurd.

What is a “proper” send off? They cancled it four months ago, well before production ended, so they could wrap it up, and gave it a two-hour retrospective+finale.

  • Alex

So, seriously, how badly did Selection have to turn out for them to skip it and keep Carrie Diaries?

Probably about as bad as it was the first time…? Its odd that they decided to retool it given how awful the first one was.

  • Holly

They picked them up, but apparently don’t believe they’ll do well.

  • David

On a different not, both Gothica and King John are dead. Suprised about King John, clearly Divorce: A Love Story has turned out really well.

  • Miguel

CW is so retarded they killed Emily Owens M.D despite the fact that it never fell from the million viewers mark…and TCD has fallen below that mark many times

  • John A

So all is left is ABC renewels. Cant believe Nikita renewed before hits Modern Family and Greys.

  • Ryan

Ringer & The Secret Circle are spinning in their graves right now!

  • swalker

Apparently TCD and Nikita are getting 13 episodes each?

  • Kyle

I will be interested to see the CW’s schedule next week. With having early pick-ups for Arrow, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Hart of Dixie, Beauty and the Beast and The Originals, and now they picked up Tomorrow People, Star-Crossed(AKA Oxygen), The 100 and Reign. The schedule is a little crowded I can’t help but think one or both maybe held for the spring. Unless they hold back Tomorrow People, The 100 or Star-Crossed for the inevitable when Beauty and the Beast pulls in worse ratings than Carrie Diaries when not following Vampire Diaries.

  • Cougar Town Forever

I sometimes wonder if the CW is even trying to get viewers.

  • Brandy

Yay so happy for Carrie Diaries!Nikita likley to get a short 13 episode final season.
@RSH, so how does it feel now that three shows you say would get cancelled (Revolution,BatB,Carrie Diaries) got renewdd.Plus,Deadline says Nikita will get a short final season.

  • tommie

The true shocker is that Nikita will only (supposedly) get six episodes.

  • Ultima

Apparently TCD and Nikita are getting 13 episodes each?

Yes for The Carrie Diaries and it will air midseason again; unconfirmed for Nikita so far.

  • Ekras

WOW…. NEVER in my WILDEST nightmare did I see TCD being renewed. Nikita was obvious though.
