    @Mi

    Is that like Reverse Fan Excuse Bingo?

  • Paleonut

    Woah! Winchester Wednesday for the win! I have been enjoying this season, looking forward to the wild ride of the finale & wait for season 9!

  • Maya

    So glad that Supernatural adjust up!!! this is a great season and I’m glad that people are enjoying it (of course not all the fans like the ones we see complaining here) but it makes me really happy to see this improvements!

    @Carl

    I never see in my entire SPN life that someone ask for Dean to have a girlfriend! lol

  • Martine

    Arrow is really hitting the skids.

  • Martine

    1.0 is a great rating? Especially as Supernatural is up against absolutely nothing. No wonder it gets good ratings. They put it up against all lackluster criminal procedurals. I bet if they put Supernatural up against any good show on another network it would tank. Love to see what it would do against something like Person of Interest or even Elementary. I bet it would lose a fourth of its viewers right off the bat.

  • NaruPariah

    Come on people, start watching Arrow, it is getting more awesome every episode.

  • Louis

    @Martine
    Nope it was on every night of the week now expect for Monday in still didn’t die yet.

  • tj

    @ Martine SPN used to be on against NCIS when it was at #1 and SPN still held that demo and then some. So do your research. Go promote the shows you like and stop hating on ones others enjoy.

  • chris23

    Martine quit being a numerical moron. Supernatural started of on Tuesdays behind Gilmore girls a female skewed driven show and still did great. It moved to Thursdays, Wednesdays and then Fridays and yet has see Mondays.

    Wednesdays are not as pathetic as Fridays or Tuesdays. What is the real competition difference between Wednesdays at 9 and Thursdays at 9?

    Hmmm.. Lets see As of late this is what they look like in comparison:

    ABC: Thurs/Greys 2.6-3.0 Wed Modern Family/ 3.3-4.4 Parents/ 2.0

    CBS: Thurs/Person of Interest mid 2s Wed Criminal Minds mid 2s

    Fox: Thurs/GLEE/ 1.8-2.2 Wed American Idol 3.3 @ 9:00

    NBC: Thurs/ Office 1.7-2.0 /go on or 1600 Penn .7-1.1 Wed SVU/ 1.6-1.9

    While Thursdays are typically more competitive in regards to the “whole” night in general, it is apparent that Wednesdays are just as productive if not more competitive in terms of demo. MF out rates GA even with Parents combined. American Idol is stronger in its second hour on Wed Nights and definitely stronger than glee. Criminal Minds is a veteran show able to pull identical if not better numbers against POI. Law and Order SVU average is higher than the 9 and 930 combo of comedies that NBC offers.

    Not only has Supernatural proven to be a viable show on a struggling network, it has been moved to every night of the week except Mondays. Your logic in regards to numbers and hate for Supernatural not to mention your need to put this show down is weak and pathetic. Next time you attack a show and claim that it wouldn’t be as strong on another night at 9 make sure you upgrade your mathematical skills and adjust that geometrical brain of yours.. And NO I’m not a supernatural fan I just am a fan of proving idiotic people wrong!!! It would definitely not lose a fourth of its viewers against Person Of Interest or Elementary lmao!!!!

    “SPN had less competition than Arrow yesterday. It is what it is.”

    SPN had the same competition it’s had all season; Modern Family et al. Yet at the start of the season it was way behind Arrow. Now it’s beating it and holding its own even compared to TVD. That is some achievement for an 8 year old show up compared to the ratings for the most successful new show CW has managed in years.

  • Geordiegirl1967

    @cass re Supernatural
    “I certainly feel like a masochist having slogged through seasons 6 and 7, but the second half of this season is like the light at the end of a tunnel. I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up but it’s a vast improvement. Finally, we’re back on with interesting mythology and the Men of Letters retcon changes everything. And once the Trials purges Sam of his demon-bloodedness, maybe we’ll have less of the same tired back-and-forth between the brothers? One can hope.”

    I agree. I really hated the first half of s8. Dean, and particularly Sam, were written so out of character I barely recognised them. Sam not looking for Dean? Ludicrous. The unconvincing conflict between them was pointless and depressing.

    And as it turned out almost none of it made the slightest difference to anything that has happened on the latter half; the trials, the MoL bunker, Naomi’s plans have all played out since mid season with no links at all to the pointless Purgatory and Amelia stories and the brothers angst. But things hugely improved around ep9, the rest has been great, and clearly our audience is still watching.

    SPN fans really are amazingly loyal.

  • Geordiegirl1967

    @Dahne
    “Count me as one of the masochists walking away from Supernatural and its canon-trashing show runner and terrible writing team. Season 8 is worse than the last half of season four for me. By far the worst SPN has ever been.

    Still I am always happy to see it do well and wish the cast and crew the best of luck. I know it is going to season 10 (and hopefully season 11) but for me, Supernatural ends in season 7 as I will be wiping this season from my mind.”

    I find your comment ironic Dahne, as I was hugely critical at the start of the season – particularly about Sam not looking for Dean – and you actually blocked me on Twitter because of my negativity. Now that was absolutely your right, and I was fine with it. But it is interesting to me to see how negatively you have ended up viewing the season. I’m sorry about that as I know how big and loyal a fan you’ve been.

    Personally Citizen Fang was my nadir. I’ve never been closer to completely giving up on the show. They pulled it around for me since then, and – although I will never believe Sam not looking for Dean was anything other than rank bad writing – I’ll be there for s9 so long as they don’t massively drop the ball in the finale (please no more separations, stupid time jumps etc).

  • Alice

    @Restless
    oh wow SPN has been crazy steady threw the years.

  • Laina

    Congrats Supernatural!!

    I’ll be in the minority here and say that I’ve loved this season! The only issue I’ve had with it was the Sam not looking for Dean thing which was definitely OOC for Sam. Amelia was boring but I understand why they went there. I loved the Purgatory flashbacks at the beginning of the season and overall have loved the storyline in the second half of the season. The only episode I haven’t liked was “Man’s Best Friend with Benefits” because it was way too soapy for me. This season was a huge improvement over the previous two in my opinion.

  • Marius

    So Supernatural > Arrow

  • Carl

    @Laina, I have enjoyed more of the season than I haven’t. I think it’s easier sometimes for people to talk about what they haven’t liked, me included. If they don’t regress Dean any further than they did in the last episode (I hope that was just to show his depression), if Cas doesn’t become an enemy and gets some control back, and if the finale is decent, then I’ll say it’s my favorite season since season 4, flaws and all.

    @Maya, people tend to say that, some people, when they think it might get Cas off the show.

  • Janus

    SPN is a beast. I loved all of season 4 and with season 8 it’s still good despite hardcore Sammies hating the the first half and hardcore Deanies hating the second half. The ratings show how irrelevant these online complainers are.

  • kelios

    Such a great ep of Supernatural–not surprised the ratings were so good! I’ve been waiting forever for Dean to tell CAstiel off…now if they just make it stick and the angel can go do his own thing while Sam and Dean do theirs I’ll be a happy fan! :)

  • coolioni

    SPN passes Aroow in the ratings !
    WoW!

    So season 8 has been all over the place story wise.
    It is kind of like a greatest hits season. they keep bringing back past characters from previous years that we have not seen or heard from in years.
    Then they usually get killed off by the end of the episode !

    Last nights episode was a perfect example of trying to cram too much stuff into one episode.
    Last nights show probally could have been close to a half seasons worth of episodes.
    There are just too many storylines going all at once.

    Next week is the finale for the season. so they need to tie up the trials, Niamoi story, Cass’ trials, What is happened to Kevin , and who knows what else they are going to throw in to the mix.

    I was a bit uppset when they revealed in the priview for next week the Crowley is going to be the demon that they convert.
    That was too much of a spolier to put out there in the preview.

    It almost ruins things a bit for me.

    If you go back and think about all of the episodes or things that they showed that had no meaning at all to anything going on this season you will think of many things.

    So what was the purpose of all of those flashbacks of Sam and Amiela ? What a waste of time. Everytime they would start a flashback I would be like “NO Not Again” !!!

    People were saying that season 7 was all over the place..Well season 8 was even worse.

    I still will watch the show to the end. But I really wish that they would quit throwing so much stuff at us every episode.

    take a little more time on things so we can actually understand what is going on !
