Chuck Lorre

UPDATE: CBS Has also picked up Jerry Bruckheimer's Hostages

CBS has just greenlighted four new comedies: Chuck Lorre's Mom (which was already heavily rumored to be a lock), The Millers (starring Will Arnett), Crazy Ones (starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar), and We Are Men (starring Chris Smith,  Kal Penn, Tony Shalhoub and Jerry O’Connell).

CBS has also picked up Drama Intelligence with Lost's Josh Holloway

    Yea ok. Its created and directed from the same man that directed and co produce POI pilot. accident my a**. He saw that is successful and create spin off or rip off(not sure in phrase) without need to paid to Nolan.

  • Neil

    Intelligence = Jake 3.0 or Chuck+

    @Survivor Fan
    I’m pretty sure Rules is dead.

    The season finale is the 100th episode. No need for anyone to do any last minute save deals to push it to a better syndication number and the CBS comedy bench is already plenty deep.

    Aren’t most of the cast of ROE signed on for pilots anyway? I haven’t seen anything with any of them picked up though.

    Oh Petar you’re delusional as always, POI isn’t big hit you claim, it’s gonna be moved because CBS can do better at that hour and not lose to aging 9 year old drama and now Scandal does better than POI.

    NBC did CF spin-off because it’s Dick Wolf show, NBC’s audience is familiar with them.

    Firstly you’re massively overstating the power of directors within television. David Semel is a gun for hire not the creative force behind Intelligence or any other show. Secondly Intelligence was actually created by John Dixon who wrote the (unpublished) book on which Intelligence is based. The pilot was written by Michael Seitzman who. Neither of them has anything to do with Person of Interest. Also Intelligence isn’t actually that similar to Person of Interest. Its about a man with a microchip in his head not a man who creates an inexplicable machine that’s never really explained that somehow magically predicts crimes despite that making absolutely no sense whatsoever.

    @Tim_m

    Bianca Kajlich’s pilot (Undateable) was picked up. I don’t think any other ROE cast members have though. ROE is dead. For multi-cams, CBS has Mom for the fall and The Millers for mid-season.

    @Cory
    Yea its only #2 CBS drama(#3 network drama for the season). And i am delusional.

    @Alex
    If that is not similar not know what is. They can’t copy paste PoI you know that.

  • DW

    some of these could be mid season or they are pushing some older ones to mid season. as much as i love Robin williams and SMG , that sounds like wreck and the bear is going to eat that up with in 6 eps.

    The two hour Thursday block is not happening!

    One comedy is heading to Mondays at 8:30 and HIMYM could end in April in order to move one of the comedies at 8. They would have 2 waiting in the wings if things go as wrong as this season.

    2 dramas… Tuesdays at 10 and Fridays. But i expect more pickups to cater for Sunday around April next year and maybe Thursdays at 10 depending on where Elementary lands.

  • Cory

    @Petar

    That’s because of good lead-in, TAAHM does 3s, sometimes 4s in demo, while GA doesn’t have that lead-in, show isn’t performing that well, it’s time to move it to 10pm or another night.

  • JT

    Prediction of first cancellation: The Millers. I was at the filming and it was really bad. Will Arnett was useless, Margo Martindale was over-the-top and embarrassed herself, and Beau Bridges’ character was brain dead. Unless they give it an unbeatable time slot, it will crash and burn before Christmas.

  • tim_m

    @David Thanks, i actually like her on ROE so i’ll probably check that show out. I pretty much figured ROE is dead the writings been on the wall with storylines ending for awhile.

  • Petar Ivanov

    @as much as i love Robin williams and SMG , that sounds like wreck and the bear is going to eat that up with in 6 eps.

    single cam on cbs that will bomp is not that hard prediction. Lets wait and see. At least wait for trailer but i was first that said he is too old even for cbs. But if is on friday will need lower ratings and that can save it.

    ps CBS will need at least one more drama and one more single cam.(if any of these bomps i mean)

  • Neil

    Joss’s Biggest Fan will be happy.

    @JT
    Prediction of first cancellation: The Millers.

    Mom will certainly be getting a fall timeslot, it’s very unlikely that The Millers will also be on during the fall.
