Chuck Lorre

UPDATE: CBS Has also picked up Jerry Bruckheimer's Hostages

CBS has just greenlighted four new comedies: Chuck Lorre's Mom (which was already heavily rumored to be a lock), The Millers (starring Will Arnett), Crazy Ones (starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar), and We Are Men (starring Chris Smith,  Kal Penn, Tony Shalhoub and Jerry O’Connell).

CBS has also picked up Drama Intelligence with Lost's Josh Holloway

It is interesting that ABC let the leading man, Josh Holloway starrer , Intelligence, go to CBS. It is a joint ABC Studios and CBS Studios production which is interesting all by itself. Gotta believe Holloway has been in demand after LOST (after listening to all the females swooning over him ad nauseam).

    @Alex

I assume that if stay POI at 9 pm will be 2.9 in the fal most stable drama beating all other 9 pm dramas on cbs which already do that this season but next season will be even with larger margin. And regular 3.0+ in jan and febr and drop again in april and may. I assume that moving PoI at 10 pm will be lower and BAD network decision making when CM and ncis la will drop anyway and if they want to move so much drama at 10 will be aging CM. By the way that is why CBS won’t move POI at 10 pm. And they not move it last season too. Man you will look so gunny after 5 days.

ps single cam on thursday will NEVER happen on cbs.

I here CBS has passed on the Beverly Hills cop series…., I’m really disappointed

  • Dan S

If CBS does expand comedies on Thur I’m thinking POI could move to Tues at 9pm followed by Intelligence. NCIS LA could shift to Wed at 9pm pushing CM to 10pm. CSI could either replace H50 on Mon or Elementary on Thur pushing 1 or both of these shows to Fridays. Obviously CBS has a lot of options on the plate to consider making.

CBS pass on Beverly hills cop. That beat all NBC pass.

Smart thinking. I agree with all. But again in what world CBS will put single cams on Monday or thursday when they rerun so bad and that is BIG and important part of CBS policy.

    super clyde :-(
    so gutted this isnt happening

  • Petar Ivanov

By the way last season CBS pick up 6 new shows and this season the same.

Last season 4 dramas and 2 sitcoms multi cams. This season 2 dramas 2 multi cams 2 cingle cams.

Last season MOnday sitcom Tuesday at 10 thursday at 10 and friday premieres.

This season Monday sitcom one multi cam for back up 10 pm drama and one for midseason and 2 single cams for friday insted of drama.

I don’t know whether to be excited or not. I LOVE SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR, but I want to watch her in a quality show, like Ringer was. Not in some comedy about advertising with the awful Robin Williams.

Why would CBS launch new comedies on Friday knowing they will be lower than 2.0 and possibly 1.5?

  • ToXiX

I don’t watch either of them, but I feel like Elementary & The Mentalist would do good paired with each other, and my thoughts on moving it to Sunday aren’t to kill it but rather breathe new life into CBS sundays as Good Wife has drained most of it, and for whatever reason it was renewed again, it deserves to be on friday this year, period.

  • Dan W

One of the only good pieces of good news today was that Sarah Michelle Gellar’s The Crazy Ones was picked up (along with renewals for Revenge, Scandal, Once Upon A Time, and Nashville)…still really bummed about Body of Proof and The New Normal!!!

So excited for all of these (except We Are Men, not sure about it, but will try it out)

I wanted Mom, The Millers, Crazy Ones, and Intelligence & Hostages picked up! Woo! Those two dramas sound amazing!

CBS will probably order 1 more drama, and possibly one more comedy. (I would think one more single-cam just in case one of them (We Are Men) bombs.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions because I haven’t seen any promos for them, read the script, or anything, but it reminds me of the CBS comedy flop “How to be a gentlemen”. Is it just me?

  • ROLY

PROBABILITY IS THAT 3 OF THESE 4 WON,T MAKE IT,S
    FULL SEASON

  • CraveRecords

If CBS expands the Thursday comedy block, it might just be for a year. HIMYM is in its final season, M&M is over when Melissa McCarthy’s contract is up, and 2.5 Men might have one more season left. They’ll (conceivably) debut a new show on Monday and two new shows on Thursday. Those show HAVE to be hits to keep 4 hours of sitcoms going. I think they’ll put something on Monday that can be the new anchor when HIMYM ends.

    What I see happening…

    MON
    HIMYM (final season)
    Crazy Ones
    2BG
    We Are Men

    THU
    TBBT
    Mom
    2.5 Men
    M&M

    *The Millers held for mid-season

  • josh2770

i still think intelligence will be a poi spinoff even though cbs has not and probably won’t confirm it

  • HV

    No Gaffigan? :(
