Update: The New Normal has been canceled.

Go On has been canceled after one season. It joins Whitney, 1600 Penn, Guys With Kids and  Up All Night.

Its a real bloodbath with the comedies.

Haven’t ABC launched 4 new comedies in one block at once? I think it is a myth that you always need a lead in. NBC could easily launch 3 new comedies around Parks and Rec.

Well there goes the last of the NBC shows I watched. That makes my network choices easy.

  • Elan

I am furious. Go On is one of the best shows on TV by a longshot.

  • Rebecca

DAMMIT! I REALLY liked this one. I’m losing the last couple of days….I lost 1600 Penn and GWK. I don’t care about the other cancelled shows as much. Matthew Perry needs a high rated show next….(I liked Studio 60 and Mr. Sunshine too)….take a long time to find one that will do well. Crossing fingers for Community but at least I got more Parks & Rec (maybe THAT one will get the six seasons and a movie, even if it’s a tv movie).

  • Samunto

Community has a chance because of those other shows NBC wants to pick from Sony TV especially Blacklist which is apparently the hottest drama pilot.

Expect a final 16 episode order at a throw away price. Heavily discounted. Then again, it’s what NBC can throw against TBBT and get some tiny traction. NBC won’t air any of it’s hot new comedies against TBBT!

  • Tommy M.

Matthew Perry must be depressed, this is the 3rd straight series of his to be cancelled after the 1st season.

  • Lukes

unless they really want to clean everything, I’d say it’s good news for Community.
But New Normal is really lower in ratings so I don’t think all these cancellations automatically mean it’s saved.

  • Rob R

NBC expected more from Matthew Perry. They wanted a self-starter, not a show dependent entirely on “The Voice.” They might be more forgiving of “The New Normal,” but that might be a stretch.

  • Ricky

Nooooo…I loved this show! This day is not going well for me. Seriously, where’s a Community renewal when you need one? I just hope this is a sign that New Normal is biting the dust too. No way NBC kills this but not TNN, not when this one had the higher ratings.

  • John A

TNN will the last canceled comedy. Community get 1 more 13 ep season.

Wow, the bear is really feasting at NBC.

I watched a few minutes of it a couple weeks back waiting for Hannibal to come on and didn’t come even close to laughing. But I also don’t think Matthew Perry is very funny. (And I didn’t watch Friends.)

    Go Community! Go Hannibal!

  • John

Oh god, I can imagine NBC and Sony execs sitting in a boardroom right now, twiddling their thumbs, and waiting for the adjusted numbers for Thursday before making the final call on Community…

    Fingers crossed.

What a bunch of petulent cry babies around here. “Wah, you canceled my show so I’m not watching any of your other shows, wah!”

Get over it. The ratings SUCKED.

  • Rebecca

Can the girl from Parenthood get Matthew onto her show? They’re good buddies. Lauren Graham, I think. Or is her character with Ray Romano? I haven’t watched in a long time, nor will I…I just want Perry to be employed and happy, not lapse back into drugs. This was a great ensemble show, too – darn it.

Why do you think that something so insignificant would make any difference at all?

  • jupiter3765

where do you get all of this information because nbc had some high hopes for it on the fall

  • SJ

I applaud NBC for doing this, but I must admit, I did a double take when I first saw the post!

  • Julia

    Very upset about this… :(
