  • Kingma

    It reads like a hit list to me.

  • David Howell

    Fox have renewed 6.5hrs of scripted TV. NBC, who have the 10pm hour to schedule, have renewed 6hrs. If Hannibal is cancelled (which I’d expect), then NBC have renewed less than Fox.

    And both have renewed less than the CW!

    I applaud NBC for having the courage to cancel the Tuesday fraudulent block. After Ready for Love did even worse than Go On and TNN, I thought they’d at least renew Go On!

  • BxActor

    I am blown away by the amount of shows cancelled lmao wow

  • Chuck

    Deception is the only cancelled show I’ll really miss. although I did enjoy the New Normal & PA 666.

  • AJ

    AXN and Sony want a second season of Hannibal. NBC probably doesn’t want a second season so i guess now they are talking about their options.

  • Pierre

    It really should be noted that this is NOT an unusually high amount of cancelled shows… Since the 09/10 season there has been about 35-40 scripted show cancelled each network season, which is right on pair with the 12/13 death count. (and, btw, the 08/09 season saw even more than 40 cancelations)

    Maybe there was a bit fewer freshman show renewed, but hardly exceptional. The only somewhat notable difference when comparing the 12/13 with the latest season is NBC’s comedy purge

  • BrieK

    Any chance that FOX programs the 10pm hour? It seems like they have ordered a lot of shows and renewed quite a few as well.

  • Anita

    Definitely not surprised about Golden Boy that show S U C K E D!

  • CybearSpace

    This is excellent news! More space for (probably) unscripted shows which people want to watch. When it comes to trash, there’s only one bear who’s keeping the streets clean!

  • verus

    If they can renew Community then perhaps Hannibal has a chance also.

  • jupiter3765

    why couldnt abc renew how to live your parents

  • STEVEN

    yay for community

    but to bad for body of proof i thought it held up well in its time slot and for viewer data base taking in well over 8 million

    hope the season finale is good and people can watch it .. this can change uncancelled? lol cbs did it last year with unforgetable or w.e it was called lol no?

  • BigBrotherFan

    Why is NBC dragging their feet on that FLOP HANNIBAL? I dunno..are they afraid to cancel it because it still has episodes to air?

    I’m bummed about Happy Endings but I knew it was happening :(

    Plus, I can forgive ABC for that cause they renewed NASHVILLE and picked up AGENTS OF SHEILD

    LOL @the people who actually thought SMASH, THE NEW NORMAL AND GOLDEN BOY where ever gonna come back!

    @LOL at the people who thought Body of Proof was gonna come back! I mean, ABC is like a young hip network why do they need some old people show? Leave that for CBS

    Hoping they cancel Dancing With the stars PLEASE

    The Mindy Project, Nashville and The following not bad this season!

  • Ultima

    @Briek
    Any chance that FOX programs the 10pm hour?

    No.

  • Ultima

    @Cybearspace
    More space for (probably) unscripted shows which people want to watch.

    The networks will have more scriped shows next season than they did this season.

    So much for the whole ‘my show was cancled for more stupid reality’ argument.

  • Ultima

    @BxActor
    I am blown away by the amount of shows cancelled

    Pretty much the same as every other year (NBC sitcoms aside).

  • Ultima

    @David Howell
    And both have renewed less than the CW!

    Because six episodes of Nikita should be treated the same as a full season drama?

  • Ultima

    @catocony
    Maybe it’s only obvious to me, but the absolute desintigration of ratings in April and May – almost across the board – should make the networks change their operations. It took them forever to give up on Saturday nights

    What’s apparently not obvious to you is the huge difference between those two things.

    Saturday nights used to work for the networks, when they stopped, they eventually gave up on them.

    Ratings have been dropping sharply in the spring for decades – it’s not like it’s new thing that the weather gets nice! If nothing has changed, why would you expect the networks to change their behavior?

    It took them forever to realize that Friday nights were no longer tenable, another movies and sports night.

    Oh, I see, you’re apparently from the future. Who wins the Super Bowl next season? In our time, Friday is still home to successful original scripted and reality programming.

    How long will it take them to realize that in the DVD age, people aren’t going to be sitting around watching the tube when the days get longer and the weather gets better in April and May?

    People had the same behavior back when they only had VCRs (or nothing for that matter). Again, why do you act as if something new and different is going on?

    Other things to stop: the 31-minute episode.

    Their goal is to get you to watch their network. If overruning their popular programs by a minute or two furthers that cause, they’ll continue to do so. If not, at least they’re selling more ad time during the higher rated show.

    That goes right back to my first point, but to beat the dead horse, Revolution came back very weak from it’s layoff this year.

    No, it didn’t. Revolution returned fine and then crashed. It’s 2.6 rating for its spring premiere was even with the two episodes prior to its fall finale.

    Back to your original point, maybe it seems like things are only obvious to you because you aren’t living in the same reality as the rest of us.
