    scandal!!!

  • joy

    epicxepic,hate much? Suck it up!!

  • Freyja

    @Laura

    If we have to explain it to you, then you just don’t get it.

    We celebrate it because a show in it’s 8th season it matching what a show in it’s 4th season is doing. That is a major accomplishment for a show that was thrown under the bus and treated like the red headed step child, by Dawn Ostroff/CW years.

    But hey keep thinking TVD is better than SPN ;) (that’s what I get out of your statement, and that we shouldn’t celebrate anything and keep quiet)

    Scandal beat Grey’s by 1 tenth. People making a big deal saying they should switch timeslots are idiots.

    Even with Jill Wagner back, I didn’t enjoy Wipeout. Some of the obstacles are ridiculous. While it’s fun to watch people wipeout, it’s also nice to see people actually make it through but the show makes sure to go out its way to make it impossible.

    A bit shocked, glad but shocked, that Scandal wasn’t adjusted down. Now 4 shows on Thursday beat American Idol in the demo, and just to point out, Scandal was only 1 tenth of a point away from beating Modern Family in the demo this week for highest rated ABC show.

    Also, TVD this years reminds me of Supernatural last year, in the same way Supernatural clung to its 0.7 last season on Friday, The Vampire Diaries is clinging to its 1.0, both show continuously being adjusted up in the finals, hope TVD goes a bit higher for finale. And BATB has to be on Fridays next season, right? – especially with Nikita getting shorter final season.

    Glad for Greys, loving this year, apart from first 3 seasons, its my favourite season of the show.

    And as much as I love the show, anyone else sort of hoping Community won’t be renewed, it won’t be the same without Chevy Chase, even if they replace him with Fred Willard like they joke did in the season premiere this year.

    POI skews really old, viewers are in similar numbers to TAHM, but demo is very different

  • DougF

    @Laura

    Technically Supernatural is the #1 show as it is tied with VD with a 1.0. So they are both #1.

  • 3terms4obama

    I read on Vulture that Community tied Idol in 18-35, showing just how questionable 18-49 is.

  • Laura

    @Freyja

    What on earth are you talking about? That’s not what I said at all. What I said was, I didn’t understand why SPN fans were celebrating ‘being the number 1 show on the network this week’ when TVD’s finals had not been released yet. Of course SPN fans should be celebrating in general – hell, I am celebrating (did you miss that part of my post where I said I’m an SPN fan?) SPN is doing AMAZING for an 8 year old show, and ranking second this week on the CW and tying the number 1 show in the demo is amazing, and of course you (we) should be celebrating that!

    I was talking specifically about the 20 or so comments I saw in the prelim thread stating ‘OMG!! SPN is the number 1 show this week!!’ which seemed a very premature thing to say, given TVD’s history of upward adjustments, and look what happened – TVD adjusted up, and SPN is not the number 1 show on the network this week. My comment was aimed at the celebrations of being the number 1 show of the week specifically. I was never stating SPN fans shouldn’t be celebrating (they should, the shows done amazing this year) and nowhere did I state which show I preferred between it and TVD, so I’d appreciate it if you stopped putting words in my mouth and trying to make my post about something that it’s not.

  • Roco

    @Rob, stop hating, Where is Max? Lets celebrate…He predicted Scandal would hit the 3’s..

  • Justin121

    LOL at people who act like ABC’s schedule is so full of hits that the only place for Grey’s to move would be 8pm or 10pm on Thursday (a useless move) or 10pm Sunday (another useless, albiet sentimental, move).

    Fact remains, Grey’s Anatomy is ABC’s biggest hit.

    The only non-CBS drama that can go as high as it can.

    Moder Family is barey a couple of tenths ahead, and is a half-hour show (amidst a seas of low rated half-hours).

    Once Upon A Time collapsed.

    Revenge failed (to remain on a comperative ratings level).

    Scandal is a flash in the pan.

    DWTS is 3 hours of low ratings just as all the non-MF sitcoms, non-Grey’s dramas.

    Grey’s is ABC’s biggest hit, most reliable flagship.

    The only way to capitilize on Scandal’s success would be:

    a) leaving it where it is.

    b) moving it to another night.

    Grey’s has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

  • ryan

    Why did everyone tune into Scandal? Was it because of what Mellie did at the end of last week? By that logic Elementary should shoot way up for its finale after last night’s ending :)

    At least Elementary and TVD adjusted up.

  • Andrew Dias

    @Martin

    “Scandal was only 1 tenth of a point away from beating Modern Family in the demo this week for highest rated ABC show.”

    You meant, Scandal was only 1 tenth of a point away from TYING Modern Family…
    Modern Family scored a 3.3.

  • TV Addict

    Lol. Yeah I miss Max, he was one of my favorite parts of TVBTN. I hope he’ll be back next season.
    But I really hope COMMUNITY will be back next season! Forget TVD, Community never went below a 1.0 either!
    C’mon #sixseasonsandamovie!!! IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN!!!

  • Freyja

    @DougF

    Technically Supernatural is the #1 show as it is tied with VD with a 1.0. So they are both #1.

    ^ yup Doug gets it ;)

    That’s why we celebrate it.

  • Chris

    Shut up, Rob60990!

  • Justin121

    Must give kudos to Scandal for officially obtaining a 3.2 rating.

    That’s big. Really big.

    Anyone thought Scandal would beat American Idol last spring?

    The Big Bang Theory beating Idol in the common half hour was considered a feat.

  • JaneDoe24

    I don’t want ABC to touch Greys/Scandal on Thursdays…however Scandal is gaining a big following. It wouldn’t matter to me when they air it–I’m still going to watch and live tweet! :-)

  • Dani

    @ DougF –

    but this is where it’s gets compliacted, and people start to argue based on their favourites. I personally agree with you, but this is when people bring total viewers into it, stating that TVD gets ranked higher because it had more viewers. I know for a fact there’s been at least one instance where SPN has ‘beaten’ TVD this year, in that they were tied in the demo but SPN had more total viewers. It got brought up multiple times in a thread the other week (someone was arguing SPN had never beaten TVD, they’d tied, and multiple people brought up the fact that SPN had more viewers, meaning it had beaten it). So the same would work in reverse here, on that logic. Same demo, TVD more total viewers = TVD wins. I personally think it’s a stupid thing to argue about anyway, but it works both ways. If people are going to count total viewers to say SPN beat TVD, they have to count total viewers in the reverse too.
