You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

The mole is Billy Chambers, the guy who conspired to take down Fitz with the Amanda Tanner scandal from season 1.

Flopemtary and Flopibbal DESTROYED by Scandal

CBS AND NBC aren’t even on the radar! I’m so happy the two shows I hate MOST are getting KILLED by one I love

  • Petar Ivanov

As i said will see after 3 days. I can see TBBT back on mondays. A lot of people will be surprise.

  • BigBrotherFan

Oh wow! Okay. Thank you. I remember who he is now. I love how the tie these things in! awesome!

  • Mrs. Angela Lansbury

My word, I feel like I did as a young child during the Depression, watching the little boys play war with plastic figures on a mat and squealing with delight when they got knocked over in the melee.

  • Pretzel

ABC did not promote Scandal at all the first season. The fans helped boost the ratings by word of mouth. Once the ratings started picking up, ABC started promoting it.

  • bette

I loved POI last night and it looks like next year we will see more of Carter. I forgot about the Office being last show, but have to admit quit watching it years ago. I do like Mindy’s new show.

  • gerry

holy **** at scandal! wow! good number for grey’s too.

decent numbers for the office too, it was good last night.

    rise, tvd! rise!

  • Brenda

Can someone please explain who the mole is? I don’t even know who that man is and I’ve watched every episode except one in October.

He’s Billy, he helped run Sally’s campaign and was the boyfriend of Amanda Tanner in season one. Amanda T was the intern that Fitz had an affair with but he didn’t sleep with her. She ended up dead at Cyrus urging via Charlie the hitman. Charlie and Billy were last scene on an elevator were presumably Charlie was gonna off him but clearly he didn’t. They must have made a deal. Hope that helps.

  • BigBrotherFan

    That’s fantastic @Brenda I appreciate it! Thanks!

  • Em

Yes for Scandal..Season finale will hit 3.6 or 3.8:-)

  • Bitter Ringer Fan

Huge ratings for Scandal! i can’t believe it, if it keeps at least a 3.0 after the finals then i’ll start watching it as i promised before….
TVD got a 0.9 in the preliminar ratings for the 4th week in a row!!!!! that is crazy! do you think it can pull an adjustment up for the 4th time in a row? i hope so…
The Office went up half a rating point in the penultimate episode which makes me think “how high will it get for next week’s series finale?” I expect a The Office poll please :(

  • Skylar James

how did the American Idol finale impact the other shows last year, in terms of ratings?

  • Jase L.

“i think that scandal got a rating this high is because “who its the mole” has been anticipitated pretty much ever since the show started and people want to see who the mole”

The mole storyline really only started with the back 9 episodes of the current season, after they wrapped up the assassination storyline.

  • Em

Man where is Max?time to celebrate your show..:-) #Scandal

  • JJ

Great numbers for Scandal. Pretty decent for Glee. Big Bang was great last night, though I was expecting closer to a 5.0. Two and a half men saw a rise for sure due to Hil Duff.

  • Anna Bones Clarkwood

    @Skylar James,

    1. I don’t know, However,

    2. AI is ending a week earlier than normal, meaning more shows are still new/finales.

    3. This is the first year (IIRC) it will air it’s finale week Wed/Thu, it’s always been Tue/Wed, as May sweeps end on Wed, this year it’s he 22nd.

    @Skylar James
how did the American Idol finale impact the other shows last year, in terms of ratings?

Didn’t hurt anything, ABC was up. CBS and NBC aired mostly repeats against it, however.

@chris and others… there is no such thing as a mercy renewal. networks are businesses. if they renew something it’s for monetary reasons. now and then a show might get picked up because the suits like it but they still hope it will pay off. anyone who says “mercy renewal” is being insincere and using it as an excuse not to admit they were wrong. why cant anyone just admit they were wrong? it’s kind of funny. carrie diaries for example was picked up. you guys were wrong. community is in negotiations for some sort of pickup. some of you were very wrong. cougar town renewed. no paranoia needed. no mercy renewals. no saving face. it doesnt work like that. just admit… oh i was wrong. i absorbed the information and came up with the wrong conclusion. i will learn from this and move on. but no… it’s always… wow there’s something wrong with them… there has to be a dark secretive evil reason why “my” opinion didnt come to fruition. ha

  • hello
