Hannibal fans, you aren't about to get any answers one way or another just yet. According to NBC's official schedule press release:
Pick-up decisions on “Celebrity Apprentice” and “Hannibal” are still to be made in the next few weeks.
Loved the movies and love this show please don’t cancel I am on the seat of my chair every week. I love this show I have not been this excited about a show like this in a long time. Someone in a comment said this show should be on a cable network so be it I WANT TO SEE IT ANY WAY.
Who actually makes this show? I don’t guess its inhouse at NBC if it comes to them so cheap. After we know who produces it, we can figure out what cable channel it should ship off to. I like the show the way it is, but it seems to ride that line of ‘look at what we got away with on a network!’ very closely. I at least hope we get a blu ray of this first season with some extras from the effects crew. Some of the ‘organs’ they use seem to be real (real animals anyway) but I thought PETA shut all that down (hence why they can’t use real pig guts for humans and zombies these days) so if they ARE fake I want to see how they did them because some of them really look real, even to someone that has a trained eye for that sort of thing.
I hope they don’t cancel this show. It is the only network television show I watch. They could help themselves by not removing whole chunks of storyline. Leaving viewers wondering what happened to certain characters and storylines that just seemed to vanish. Maybe a cable channel will pick it up.
I hope they renew the series. Just don’t put it up against Elementary. Thank goodness for DVR’s. As another person mentioned, this show might be better suited to a cable network given its edgy content. But I look forward to it every week.
Hannibal is one of the best shows on television–period.
Deep, complex characters; intelligent, suspensful writing; fabulous sets and wardrobe–Mads Mikkelson always looks impeccably styled…and Hugh Dancy ids costumed like he’s just been released from a nightmare.
All of these elements are then wrapped up in a beautifully shot package. It’s absolutely mesmerizing–and as gory as the subject matter is, I can’t take my eyes off it.
I know the ratings are abysmal (and I am sure much of it is due to the graphic depiction of murder and cannibalism–it can be really hard to watch sometimes) but it would be a huge loss if this impeccably crafted series got the axe.
It’s truly a work of (macabre) art.
I will probably cry if this doesn’t get another season. This is by far the best thing on tv right now.
Hope NBC renews it! It’s slow and methodical (like Lector) which makes the quick violence all the more shocking. Explosions and lightning fast editing don’t add up to a good show. Remember Miami CSI? That show was HORRIBLE, yet it got very good ratings! (?). Let’s face it , most taste in shows out there sucks! If the show challenges the viewers, or makes them think … it will be cancelled. Short attention span strikes again.
I like the show but it’s on the wrong network for the type of show it is. This is the biggest problem and why I believe it is indeed canceled. Someone already pointed out the obvious they won’t reveal that it’s canceled yet because there are still episodes left. Maybe the show is a little too smart for its own good. It would probably have fared better on a cable network or something along those lines.
I would like to see Hannibal picked up by NBC for a 2nd season.
I would like to see Hannibal picked up by another channel USA Network perhaps!
It’s a great show! something different for murder mystery tv shows! I think they would be missing out if they let this slip by!
RENEWED !!!!! YESSSSSS !!!! *________*
