Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    u should be cancelled, thats because desperate housewives on its second season used to get over 20 million viewers

    This summer, people will catch up on Revenge. Word about this finale will run the world. It was the most epic thing on TV this entire year. So, so great! S3 Premiere is so gonna go up…

    @Mona

    DH was very expensive, so even if it managed low to mid 2′s this season, ABC would still not find it profitable to air.
    Also, DH was declining every season, so we wouldn’t know if its finale would still get a 3.1 if it was still on the air.

    All we can say is that moving Revenge to Sundays was a bad move by ABC and has pretty much killed the show. You need a very strong show to compete against all the competition on Sundays and neither Revenge, Once, and Desperate Housewives could compete against it. Even if ABC moved their biggest drama’s – Grey’s and Scandal to Sundays, both of those shows ratings would suffer a lot too.

    Why do people keep blaming ABC’s scheduling for how bad Revenge ended up doing this season. It may be part of the story. However, the writers of the show really didn’t know what direction to take the story and it definetly showed. I know a couple of friends that just gave up on Revenge this season. Revenge went from being my favorite show on TV to one that I couldn’t watch any longer. The depth of the characters weakened (Victoria was an amazing character during the first season) and the initiative storyline was just so stupid. What would have been cool would be…what if the father was not dead and he begins a revenge plot of his own?!!! Now that would be interesting.

    What The hell ! Revenge 1.6 Such A Spectacular Season Finale ! .. ABC needs To Change The Timeslot For revenge ! for The nExt Season , Season 3 Will be more Revengey ! Dont You All Think ??

    @SJ
    I 100% agree! Revenge needs to be moved back to Wednesday ASAP and it’s premiere needs to be after the Modern Family premiere. Revenge needs to be surrounded by hit shows, not OUAT and Red Widow (RIP). I was so disappointed to see Revenge’s ratings because the finale was EPIC! ABC need to turn all their attention to helping this show because it deserves so much better than being the dregs of Sunday night. Move Scandal to Sundays and lets see how well it does.

    @A

    I also would like and also feel like they should pair revenge and scandal next season… both are sticky and fantastic.. always want more of it.. would like my 2 fav abc shows back to back…

  • rob60990

    “I agree Desperate Housewives would have gotten 10-11 million views if it was still on the air”

    No it wouldn’t, stop being delusional. The only episode of DH to get over 10 million was its series finale and if that wasn’t the series finale, the ratings would not have been as high. If it was still on, the show would be doing no better than Revenge and the actors on Revenge don’t even make a quarter what those actresses were paid.

    REVENGE WAS AMAZING! Hopefully ABC will find a better place and better scheduling for it in the third season! This is all on them
