Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

@John You’re lying to yourself if you that the finale for Revenge was not good. IT WAS INSANELY GOOD! Good isn’t even the right word for it because it’s unworthy.

Season 3 of Revenge is going to be soooo amazing! I can’t wait.

  • ali

This is really depressing for revenge…it was amazing!!! Can we have half hours please?

  • BigBrotherFan

MAX is likely doing his happy dance somewhere in cyberspace

  • Someone

Revenge’s finale was fantastic. Probably best episode this season.
Though I will admit the first hour wasn’t as good as the 2nd hour.

Maybe ABC should have aired it in 2 days instead of putting the best part in the dreadful 10PM sunday timeslot.

  • Tony JJ

    @Tony
Why would you think revenge dipped at 10? If you watched, a big event happened just at the end of the first hour.

Though I am surprised revenge dipped. That was one of the best episodes on broadcast television in a long time. I hope it can return way up in the fall, I hope everyone catches up on netflix, because while the second season had its share of underwhelming episodes, the season definitely got better in the last few episodes.

  • Joseph

Revenge finale averaged HALF of its premiere- that is just abnormal- I know the show experienced a decline in quality but abc must admit a major part of responsibility for this great show- so disappointed

  • Michael

Lackluster numbers for Revenge. 1.6 is really the best it can do, with a 2 hour finale? DISAPPOINTING!

  • were123

Half hours for Revenge? I’d like to know if it did better at 9 or at 10 (that could be an idication of at what time it should air)

  • Raul

Revenge was not the best replacement for Desperate Housewives….

  • oktimeforplanc

Revenge and Once Upon A Time were really good last night! Looking forward to season 3 for both shows!

  • John A

How can ABC be to blame? It was a hyped Finale. You guys can always use that excuse.

  • Miki

Hope OUaT will get a better third season than this one was. Such an interesting idea for a show should get a far better execution.

  • Raul

America’s Funniest Home Videos beat Revenge by viewers so sad I was hoping Revenge will hit 7 million & Once 8 million

  • Kevin

Somebody please half hours for Revenge?
    I would be very grateful.

  • Damien

REVENGE finale was one of the biggest finales I have seen so far this season. So much drama and great cliffhangers. I can only hope that people will catch up to the show over the summer and that they will return to Season 3 in big numbers.

One thing has to be made clear: REVENGE has returned to form since episode 13 and the quality dip in the beginning was not that huge. ABC’s scheduling really messed up a great show this season.

  • TheFrenchGuy

Revenge is low but it’s probably because of the 2nd hour. The Simpsons did good. I don’t understand if Survivor got a 2.2 or a 2.6. Can someone help me ?

  • Once & Again

The Revenge finale was so good, and yet it gets these rating. This is just depressing. The finale made up for the uneven season. What the hell is wrong with you America, stop watching soft porn(Game of Thrones) and other imbecilic programs!!!

  • cc

Somebody needs to find new Nielson viewers.

Revenge was the top trender on twitter last night for hours. People are watching this show and talking about it.

  • Percy

Theres a typo, it said survivor earned a 2.2 for the finale when it earned a 2.6 lol

  • Joseph

@John A I don’t think I speak for all fans, but I think in general abc has really screwed over the show- especially at the start of this year and airing it against so many events- no matter what people say, a show does not drop a full ratings point in a space of a few episodes due to a decline in quality. Personally, I’m afraid I am really unaware as to why the finale rated so low tonight because as you said, abc did hype the show this week.
