I wish the fed govt had this problem. :) Doug Z your state is one that has the “problem.”

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Turns out that cutting was the easy part. Now Republicans who control a majority of the state capitols in the United States face a far greater philosophical dilemma — what to do with all the money when an improving economy suddenly creates a surplus in revenues.

Save it? Refund it though tax cuts? Or spend it

Noted professor and sociologist Dr. Anne Hendershott claims IRS may have targeted her with a 2010 audit

IRS demanded to know which groups paid her and “what their politics were”
Hendershott believes her articles critical of President Barack Obama’s policies and George Soros’ funding of liberal Catholic groups may have spawned the IRS audit

Audit was emotionally and financially expensive and scared the professor into silence

In the midst of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) scandal, individuals and groups, alike, are continuing to come forward with ever-startling allegations. On Wednesday, Dr. Anne Hendershott, a devout Catholic and a noted sociologist, professor and author, exclusively told TheBlaze that she believes she may have been one of the IRS’s targets.

According to Hendershott, the IRS audited her in 2010 and demanded to know who was paying her and “what their politics were.”

It all started with a phone call she received at her home in May of that year — a call during which Hendershott was told she would be audited. A letter that followed on May 19, 2010 solidified the IRS’s request to meet her in person two months later in July. While IRS investigations are certainly not uncommon occurrences, the professor believes that the situation surrounding hers was more-than-curious.

“The IRS calls my house and says … ‘I just wanted to let you know that we’re going to be auditing your business’ and I said ‘My businesses?’ and he said, ‘You know the expenses you take off for writing,” the academic recalls.

FOX News Channel’s Sean Hannity will be marking his 1000th episode tonight at 9PM/ET.

For 12 straight years, Hannity co-hosted “Hannity & Colmes” with liberal counterpart, Alan Colmes and in January 2009, Hannity was named solo host of “Hannity.”

Hannity has been #1 in the 9PM/ET time slot for 52 consecutive months, and “Hannity” averages over 2 million viewers each night — frequently doubling the viewership of his cable news competition, according to Nielsen.

Hannity has been with Fox News since its inception in October 1996.

    Ouch that’s gotta hurt.

    Fron d.d.’s post –

an unnamed HIPAA-covered entity in California is suing the IRS, alleging that some 60 million medical records from 10 million patients were stolen by 15 IRS agents. The personal health information seized on March 11, 2011, included psychological counseling, gynecological counseling, sexual/drug treatment and other medical treatment data.

There are times when a coach should bench his star player and last night was one of those, but alas, Curry kept on playing and turning the ball over when the team was on the verge of tying the game after a huge comeback. Someone should also change the soles of their shoes and use a less-slippery material.

After watching Jay & Eric off and on, I have determined that this administration is claiming they have no idea what people who work for it or doing, or why they are doing it, or have no idea what they are doing while working for it.

Leadership isn’t bought, it’s earned. Trust isn’t bought, it earned.

Corruption is cheap, ask anyone in Chicago.

Have a good evening everyone, Be back late tonight

Lawmakers say IRS targeted dozens more conservative groups than initially believed

The IRS targeting of conservative groups is far broader than first reported, with nearly 500 organizations singled out for additional scrutiny, according to two lawmakers briefed by the agency.

IRS officials claimed on Friday that roughly 300 groups received additional scrutiny. Reps. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said Tuesday that the number has actually risen to 471.

Further, they said it is “unclear” whether Tea Party and other conservative groups are being targeted to this day.

The lawmakers disclosed the additional information in a letter Tuesday to Lois Lerner, the IRS official who first disclosed the inappropriate practice.

They sent the letter as a highly anticipated watchdog report was released, finding “inappropriate” action at the IRS.

The Republican congressmen also revealed that the IRS itself determined their effort was biased against conservatives more than a year ago.

“The actions of the IRS are unconscionable and appalling,” they wrote.

One of President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign co-chairmen used a leaked document from the IRS to attack GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney during the 2012 election, according to the National Organization for Marriage (NOM).

NOM, a pro-traditional marriage organization, claims the IRS leaked their 2008 confidential financial documents to the rival Human Rights Campaign. Those NOM documents were published on the Huffington Post on March 30, 2012.

At that time, Joe Solmonese, a left-wing activist and Huffington Post contributor, was the president of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Solmonese was also a 2012 Obama campaign co-chairman.

Both the Huffington Post’s Sam Stein and HRC described the leak as coming from a “whistleblower.” The Huffington Post used the document to write a story questioning former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney’s support for traditional marriage. The document showed Romney donated $10,000 to NOM. HRC went a step further than the Huffington Post in its criticism of Romney and accused him of using “racially divisive tactics” in a press release.

Solmonese, then still the HRC’s president, said in the release he felt Romney’s “funding of a hate-filled campaign designed to drive a wedge between Americans is beyond despicable.”

“Not only has Romney signed NOM’s radical marriage pledge, now we know he’s one of the donors that NOM has been so desperate to keep secret all these years,” Solmonese added.

Solmonese resigned his position at HRC the next day and took up a position as an Obama campaign co-chair. He had announced the then-pending resignation from HRC the previous autumn.

NOM announced Tuesday that it will sue the IRS for this alleged leak. Under immense political pressure, Attorney General Eric Holder launched a criminal investigation into the IRS’s actions. Congress will conduct ts own investigation.

In early April 2012, NOM published documents which it said showed this leaked confidential information did not come from a “whistleblower” but “came directly from the Internal Revenue Service and was provided to NOM’s political opponents, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).”
