    Nice job Chicago Fire! NBC must be pleased since last night’s episode also acted as the pilot for Chicago PD. And now CF gets rewarded next season with The Voice as a lead-in. I think CF will do no worse than a solid second in that time slot and may even take first if Person of Interest falters.

    I like PoI but I’m not sure that following the NCIS block is the best place for that show. The NCIS shows do have some ongoing threads but for the most part are stand-alone episode procedurals. PoI is the opposite. They have some stand-alone elements in most episodes but a lot of the plots are related to ongoing storylines and may be very confusing to viewers unfamiliar with the show’s canon.

    Stephen Amell has proven himself to be a good actor this season on Arrow. Anyone who says differently probably hasn’t even watched the last episodes.
    And I have to agree with @Dahne, this was the best finale I watched this year.

    As for SPN, after almost 8 years of watching this show and this mess of a season, I officially dropped it. Maybe I’ll return eventually and marathon the episodes someday but not anytime soon.

    @Mi
    Sadly I watch all of Arrow hes still the same.

    CHICAGO FIRE is great!

    arrow deserves better ratings than this, that finale was amazing, better than supernaturals which was okay but nothing special.

  • Dochas

    @Mi, I have watched the entire season of Arrow. My opinion doesn’t change.

    Maybe people just not interested.

    So Nashville gets renewed less viewers I am sure much more to produce then Body of proof and Body of proof gets cancelled ABC is so dumb

    NOOO. darn it nashville! up! go up! ugh. that’s what happens with such a crappy lead-in. it’s kind of amazing that nashville has survived like this to be honest. a new show getting a 1.7 in may when it had a 2.0 for its second episode? a new serialized drama airing behind 2 different disappointly rated comedies over the season? it should have collapsed by now.

    and i haven’t seen last night’s episode, but i will say that i preferred the first half of the season to the second half. it’s still awesome, but you can CLEARLY tell that ABC has given them instructions to go in a more soapy direction and i hate it. i dont want this to become revenge or scandal w. music. it’s supposed to be about the country music world. i thought the formula in the late november and jan-feb episodes was perfect. the pace and storylines picked up and the stories were dramatic and driven by music/the industry. that’s what made the show unique. i MUCH prefer that to murder and other superficial stories. ABC, please don’t turn this into one tree hill.

    and why haven’t we heard gunnar and scarlett sing in so long? their beautiful songs were a staple of the first half. i still love it. but i hope it can work out next season and be perfect.

    Great for SPN. I don’t think the executives at CW get it. I don’t watch SPN because of Arrow; I watch Arrow because of SPN. After the Arrow finale, I wish them luck next season. The Tomorrow People looks like more of the same.

    Can’t place all the blame on Nashville’s lead-in for their lower than expected ratings this season. Nashville has had a stronger lead-in than Chicago Fire but it is losing audience whereas CF is building on their lead-in.

  • Colin

    I still wonder how How to Live With Your Parents got canceled…

  • lostboy

    I think. Revolution deserves better ratings, however Nielsen. Does. Not. Share the. Same feelings as me Nielsen. U suck!

  • rob60990

    “They could easily preempt the Family Tools next week for a Modern Family repeat and then have originals return on May 29.”

    Ya I didn’t mean for them to pull the show completely. Just air it in the summer. Why air it during sweeps when you have better options?

  • Alex

    @lostboy
    Nielsen don’t have any feelings one way or the other about what ratings Revolution ‘deserves’.

    @Colin

    By not rating very well.

    A better comparison would probably be Revenge last year.

  • Jay

    Great for CF! Such a great show, my favorite. Cannot wait for the season finale next week, will be amazing.

  • Matt

    I love how ABC renews Nashville but not BOP? Dumb!!!

  • No_Lie

    @Alex – Nashville and Chicago Fire are in the same time slot so I think it’s valid to compare them. Kind of hard to blame Nashville’s 3rd place ratings on a weak lead-in when their time slot competition has an even weaker lead-in.
