    I agree @Bev

I think this is going to best election yet…for the tea party. People do NOT like to have their rights and privacy trampled.

  • Hillbilly

Greg Gutfeld lost his bet with Eric Bolling. Gutfeld picked Penn Jillete.

    @BevAG

I hope didn’t let Sicilian Papa steal your step daughter from me. ;)

  • Hillbilly

old Mike – Absolutely not. This is/was a free country. Let’s keep it that way. But they could tone down the advertising in depressed regions. Not likely to happen though because lottery execs want to keep their good paying jobs and impress their Governors.

    ———————

I’ll concede you have a good point on advertising. I don’t know how one would achieve such a thing. I guess any stores selling tickets in poor areas could take down any posters promoting it.

  • Chriscee

Just a reminder for the media types out there….If the DOJ can do it to the AP and Fox News….it will do it to all of you….regardless of how much you adore Obama. Regardless of how much you praise Obama and are in the bag for him. If it can happen to a couple it can and no doubt will happen to you all.

  • Hillbilly

Faith3 – Um, the emails were publicly released and it was found that the Republican source did not give correct information but misleading information about the emails. Oh, the irony!

    —————————

If you read SteveB’s comment above yours it makes clear what happened. Jonathan Karl didn’t use the word “summary” (the republicans wasn’t allowed to keep the emails, just look at them) when he first reported on them. Now some are saying the R’s changed the emails/lied about them. It’s kinda like depends on what the meaning of is is.

    AND NOW THERE ARE 3

DOJ Secretly Monitored and Criminalized Three Fox News Reporters

Earlier today the Washington Post reported that Fox News’ James Rosen had been secretly monitored by the Department of Justice. DOJ monitored his work and personal emails, read his work and personal emails, monitored his phones, monitored his movements and even named him as a criminal conspirator. Now, we know Rosen wasn’t the only Fox News reporter targeted. Reporter William LaJeunesse, who extensively covered Operation Fast and Furious and national-security senior producer Mike Levine.

Fox News executive Michael Clemente is vowing to stand by reporters and slammed the administration for their intimidation tactics and assault on the First Amendment.

“We are outraged to learn today that James Rosen was named a criminal co-conspirator for simply doing his job as a reporter. In fact, it is downright chilling. We will unequivocally defend his right to operate as a member of what up until now has always been a free press.”

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney refused to comment on the secret monitoring of Fox News reporters and continued to say President Obama believes in a balance between free speech and national security during his press briefing Monday.

“I can’t address an ongoing criminal investigation,” Carney said. “The president believes strongly in the need for reporters to pursue investigative journalism.”

The Department of Justice is justifying its actions and saying the Department followed the law and all regulations in relation to tapping communications of the press.

THIS SHOWS YOU ONE THING…just how far the Obama administration will go the SILENCE THEIR OPPOSITION….and just how LOW the Obama administration actually is.

    @ Hillbilly.

My stepdaughter is a little cutie!! She’s still single. I think Papa could win her over with his pizza description. BUT I keep telling her about your still and your tooth. :) So you’re still in the running. :)

    This from Tommy Christophers Mediaite

Gov’t Official On Leave Following Benghazi Investigation Speaks Out: ‘Goal Is To Restore My Honor’

“The overall goal is to restore my honor,” Raymond Maxwell recently told The Daily Beast. The mid-level State Department official was put on leave in the wake of an Accountability Review Board report into the failures which led to the deadly attack on an American consulate in Benghazi. Today, he is speaking out and accusing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s closest advisors of scapegoating him.

Following an internal investigation into the failures that led to the Benghazi attack, Maxwell, the former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Maghreb (North Africa) Affairs, was placed on administrative leave. He told The Daily Beast’s Josh Rogin that he had plans to retire in September of last year, but committed to remain on voluntarily after the attack in order to help his bureau within State proceed with an investigation. Now, Maxwell says he refuses to retire until his name is cleared.

“They just wanted me to go away but I wouldn’t just go away,” Maxwell told The Daily Beast. “I knew Chris [Stevens]. Chris was a friend of mine.”

He says that that Beth Jones, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, placed him on indefinite leave at the direction of close Clinton aide Cheryl Mills.

Rogin notes that this decision was at odds with the actual findings of the ARB report which found “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department” — the Near East and Embassy Security bureaus.

But Jones was not disciplined in any way following the release of the report, nor was the principal deputy assistant secretary of State at NEA, Liz Dibble, who is slated to receive a plush post as the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. embassy in London this summer. In the DS bureau, the assistant secretary, principal deputy, and deputy assistant all lost their jobs. In the NEA bureau, only Maxwell was asked to leave.

Maxwell told Rogin that he was told he would be brought back on as a “senior advisor” once the Benghazi controversy had subsided, but that never occurred.

State Department officials told Rogin that Maxwell admitted to the ARB that he had failed to read his intelligence briefings and was disciplined for that infraction. “The State Department began an administrative process to review the status of the four individuals placed on administrative leave. That review process continues and Secretary Kerry will be briefed with an update, and decisions will be made about the status of these employees,” said State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki. “This internal administrative process can take some time.”

Holder already has, it just hasn’t leaked out yet. Wait, when they asked Holder, after the AP scandal broke if he had bugged and seized any other reporters calls and e-mails he answered, I don’t know.

In weenie lawyer speak that means I am lying.

  • BevAG

    @ Hillbilly

By “still” I mean that wine thingy thing that people make in the mountains!!!

P.S. I’m a real bad joke teller. I wasn’t sure you’d understand what I meant by still. lol That’s why I had to clarify.

Oh, shucks!! I think I should just stick to talking politics. lol
