    @Billy:

    Yes, I agree, TAAHM will be lower next season, but it needs to decrease more than a full rating point to be in danger of not being renewed, due to the expensive nature of the show. I think that the average will fall by like 6 tenths, but not a full rating point for sure.

    Mae,

    Well no show on the CW is a powerhouse lol. An example of a powerhouse is, TBBT!

    Am I reading this right? NO adjustment for an Idol finale?!

    No. It was adjusted up from a 3.4 to a 3.6 earlier in the day (The Office finale was adjusted up as well).

  • GG

    AWESOME for VD.

    And why was beauty and flop renewed? Secret Circle last year got better ratings.

    @Sunny
    Sean Saves The World isn’t worthy to take over The Office time slot… I hate the “laugh track” so annoying…

    Yeah, I can’t believe that NBC would put a multi-cam sitcom with a laugh track in the timeslot formerly occupied by Cheers, Seinfeld, and Will & Grace.

    “Fox is in deep trouble with American Idol aging badly. They have built almost nothing from the years of death star ratings and now must rely on expensive gambles (almost human) and short run serials. Fox destroyed its own money maker by overpaying for judges no one cared for and the producers drove away its core audience by having the weak panel of male singers.”

    You know how some people like to say how some of the best players on their teams make their teammates better? Well, Idol is no longer capable of making any other shows that follow it better, or the network in general (in this case, FOX). Soon, the reckoning will be upon it.

    At least this year the cw has three shows propping it up. As much as I love another certain show the network it’s doing no favors for them. Hopefully next year is another step in a decent direction for them.

    I JUST WANT HANNIBAL TO BE RENEWED (goddamnit NBC i can’t wait that long, just tell me and put an end to my misery)
    NBC really needs to give this wonderful masterpiece another chance by putting it in a different time slot.

    @TAAHM indeed had those numbers you pointed out, but you fail to point out that it did it with the biggest lead in on all of TV. Lead in matters. It matters a lot. Most of those numbers TAAHM put up this season were thanks to TBBT lead in. TAAHM will not put up those numbers without the big lead in.

    May be yes may be not. No point of talking now. We will see that next season and we will talk than.

    American Idol should snatch Christina Aguilera from The Voice.

    I guess I’ll have to go back & watch earlier episodes of Scandal. This show is on fire & pity any show that has to go against it. It now has surpassed GA in both demo & viewership no easy feat being a 10pm show. It sure would’ve been interesting to see what that show could do at 9pm. Even with a strong lead in poor Hannibal couldn’t get above 1.1 which is unfortunate for its future.

    LOL
    TBBT rerun beat Greys and Scandal in demo and in viewers :D

    Hannibal must be shopped to AMC or HBO, or even USA, this show doesn’t deserve cancellation and it’s not appropiate for broadcast tv!
    Wow at The Office and Scandal!!

    TBBT rerun beat 90% of broadcast shows in demo and viewers these days. But even TBBT is down on tbs. They overexpose it with these 11543256374 reruns and that can hurt rerun ratings. But after TBBT original is still a beast.

    Hannibal is really stubbornly digging in its nails and hanging on to that 1.1 number. I wish it would rise even by just a little but at least it is consistent. Fingers cross it’d find life elsewhere on another channel or platform.

  • CrazedNovelist

    ABC dead last in the 8PM hour… out of control right?

    That would be one heckuva snatch! ;-) :-)

    Hannibal just needs some love. I stopped watching
    Criminal Minds this year because I THOUGHT IT WAS SO DARK. Hannibal is addicting. I hope 1.1 can save this show. I watch 2 shows on NBC. One of course is Hannibal the other Revolution. Please don’t tell me I have poor taste in shows considering Hannibal is a cannibal. Gillian Anderson and Liz Mitchell fix. Go BATB not great acting, but not horrible. These shows are Popcorn night. Man I hope Revolution lives to see syndication, however if they kill Liz Mitchell or David Lyons off for shock value I am done with my boy JJ Abrams, well especially if he kills my Juliet.
    This is the problem when networks hype up a show, most of the time they can’t live up to the expectations. Man I knew Revolution was going to hit low 2 especially in spring. Hannibal had know expectations. Man I wish NBC would let us know it’s fate

    @Jayson
    The way I can tell: With canned laughter (laugh tracks), you can often hear it abruptly start and abruptly end – so you can tell it’s fake like that. It still takes me a while to get used to it, with old “MASH” shows and with current TBBT shows. (But I like that with the MASH dvds you can pick the option to hear the show with no laugh track at all, more like the single camera comedies I’m more used to now.) With live audience laughter you can sometimes hear chuckles without a lot of laughter, and then it’ll trickle in and sound more natural. I like it when you can hear some of the offscreen actors laughing, when they’re not in the scene – on old “I Love Lucy” shows you can hear Desi Arnaz laughing a lot during many of Lucy’s solo scenes (or just any scene in which she’s being silly with anyone besides Desi/Ricky). And it can be heard sometimes with old “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Cheers” and “Seinfeld” episodes if I recall. I think they’ll often record the audience’s laughter and use it while editing before broadcast, too – so that at least TRIES to simulate “live audience laughter” while also being a new laugh track.

    Except that Christina is already under contract or The Voice next fall, also thinking their is a non compete clause in their contacts so that American Idol can not try and snatch their judges
