I’ll just say this…Bill Hader, you will be sorely missed. At least we got one more Stefon out of this show. And goodbye and good riddance to Fred Armisen, although we’ll probably see him come back to guest-host this time next year just like Kristen Wiig did. Hopefully this also means they’ll finally stop doing the god-awful Californians.

Did Kardashian make a guest appearance? I have to ask, because every time Timberlake is there, Biel is too. Wondered if they would let Kanye do it too.

  • Ricky

@colt: As far as I’m aware, no. Jennifer Garner did pop in during Affleck’s monologue, though.

Also Biel might be backstage everytime JT hosts but she has appeared in just one Update skit (on a night JT cameoed as well) or introduced a song of Justin.
Also Kanye didn’t appear in any sketch like in his 3rd and 4th show. Maybe he won’t get that chance anymore since his public feud with SNL.

4 men of SNL are leaving, do they have enough talent to replace them all?

  • jupiter

3 men are leaving but seth myers will still be with nbc just not on snl

  • Gary Middleton

As a society, we need to come to an agreement that wild, extended applause is not required every time a celebrity appears on SNL by surprise.

“4 men of SNL are leaving, do they have enough talent to replace them all?”

I honestly don’t know. I do think a change in head writer is called for. I think Seth Meyers allowed too much silliness in their sketches to a point were it wasn’t even funny, it was just bad.

As for the remain 3 holes, I don’t know who they will bring in but they’ll find them. They always do. This isn’t anything SNL isn’t use to.

I don’t know if I can watch SNL anymore after this, all my favorite characters have left

  • Rebecca

I thought I might stop watching since Bill Hader will be gone (I don’t care about Fred Armisten, although I liked it when he played the Queen), but then I like a couple of the new girls so I’ll keep watching for them and see who else they get. Enjoyed a little of this Ben Affleck episode. Not sure if all of it was on hulu….they had no on-stage ending bit there. Amy Poehler was fun on Update.

  • Frank

Seth might stay until christmas for doing Update (as it is rumoured) but likely SNL will get a new head writer next september. I’m really hoping the writing will improve after that.

@Rebecca: After the band sketch there was just a regular on-stage goodbye with Fred and Bill hugging and waving. Jason and Seth didn’t stood in first lane.

SNL survived the departures of Aykroyd/Belushi, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Crystal, Carvey, Hartman, Myers, Sandler, Fey, Fallon, Poehler, Wiig and Will Ferrell. I think it can survive losing this crew.
