The ratings and the number of viewers are always wackadoo when it comes to the CW. I’ve seen shows have close to 1 million viewers get between 0.2 to 0.5 ratings. Glad to see Nikita stay on the higher side, but really it doesn’t matter.

I’m hoping Nikita gets a 13-episode order instead of 6, the show deserves a longer short final season than just six episodes, especially when GG got one with similar ratings.

  • Samuel

    @John A

If WB didn’t have syndication deal lined up for Nikita they would NEVER have renewed it for a third season, let a lone a final fourth.

    A. You don’t need 88 episodes to enter syndication.
    B. Nikita airs pretty weak with originals, but it IS a Friday show and to be honest, it’s ratings – although bad – are pretty expected from a network like The CW that STILL, for some odd reason that I will never fully understand, airs original shows on a Friday.

They likely have a syndication deal lined up with the likes of FX or TNT in the US. Also, with Nikita’s supposedly great oversea’s numbers, it should have no problem with international syndication.

  • John A

But still why not a full final Season to bring it to 88? Thats more traditional then it ending with just 73. I did read that the nikita showrunner has a pilot at AMC maybe that is going to series and he wanted to end Nikita early for that Reason?

  • Zach

It’s cute that people think an increase to a .4 will get Nikita more episodes. It won’t. WB probably had to fight to get 6.

  • Tyson

If Nikita had a U.S. syndication deal, the deal would be announced. No announcement means no deal. The international ratings clearly aren’t strong enough to warrant producing more than six episodes next season.

  • Dahne

@Figgie – no one won with Nikita getting 6 episodes. Not the “haters.” Not the fans. Not the CW. My guess, not the WB either. Obviously the WB and CBS could not come to the agreement the WB wanted. I guess bundling isn’t always the answer.

@everyone who keeps saying Nikita “deserves” a full season or 13 episodes. With its ratings, Nikita “deserved” to be cancelled after season 2. You may want extra episodes. I do too. However, there is nothing deserved about any of this.

@rob60990 – Stow it. You’re annoying everyone right now. While I know that is your plan, you’d be better off finding a fall series for your bile.

  • Figgie

@Dahne I think that as a fan, I won with Nikita getting a 6 episodes final season and every other fan of the show won too. Because, unlike many shows on TV nowadays, it will get a proper ending, even if it’s only 6 episodes to wrap it up I know the writers will work with what they have and give us, fans, a well deserved, epic final season. (well deserved not for the ratings, obviously, but for the quality the series has shown these 3 years)

  • Ram510

I was hoping Nikita would miraculously adjust up to a .5, but .4 will do considering. I hope it comes back with better ratings and CW gives the show more episodes.

  • GARY

Who knows, maybe a kickstarter campaign may develop someday for a Nikita movie like Veronica Mars which I was glad to see when it happened.

  • Bitter Ringer Fan

It doesn’t deserve extra episodes based on the ratings but 6 episodes is way too short!!! Since it made it this far you could have given it a 13 episode season or at least 10 ‘a la’ GG

  • Cass

    @Samuel, John A, Tyson

My guess is that there is some magical number of minimum episodes needed to receive any shot of a syndication deal which is being worked out as we speak. In the past, I’ve thought that magical number hovered between 80-100. With Nikita’s 6 episode final season, however, I’m ready to adjust that expectation lower. I suppose anything in the 70s is the bare minimum because without the 6 extra episodes, Nikita would’ve been in the 60s which ought to be unacceptable to anyone.

  • JR35

The 9 p.m. Shark Tank was the night’s top show, and even the average of the two episodes was tops for the night. :)

  • Loki

So Nikita can still manage 0.4 late in the spring on friday night
while Carrie Diaries get that on a monday. BatB can only manage 0.5 now after TVD. HoD can only manage 0.5 on the weekdays as well.
Yet all these shows got renewed for more episodes than Nikita. Something is seriously wrong with this picture.

Talk about a network biased towards other shows. CW just die already how useless and dumb can a network get lol.

  • david

I think to sindicated a drama you can have less than 88 episodes. Sitcoms you need at least 88 episodes.

  • Sabrina

Nikita is more expensive to produce than most other CW shows. My guess is that was a very critical factor in deciding the number of episodes for season 4. They could not possibly cut any more corners budget wise for an action show. And personally I would rather have 6 high quality episodes than 22 weaker ones.

  • POIFanatic

@Loki @Rob*****: Come back when you have enough information and the intellect to mull over the facts. Nikita ‘deserved’ to be cancelled after season 2. I will say CW has been extremely partial towards Nikita renewing it even though it doesn’t deserve it. These additional 6 episodes is a win for any fan of the show. Personally, I’ve never seen an episode, but good for the fans. So many shows get cancelled without a resolution. And rob, shut it. You’re just an idiot.

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

NCIS and The Big Bang Theory get 16 to 20 times the viewers of Nikita, yet people still make more comments about Nikita. Why? It was nice when Cult was still airing, because people didn’t insult this show no one really watches so much.
