Definitions:

DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data LiveLive+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.

Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.

Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate

Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

It’s interesting to track the huge difference between GA & Scandal when it comes to L+SD and L+7D. Scandal has yet to develop that following that puts it on DVR – yet. Will be interesting to see if that changes next season. One of the drawbacks of ABC’s summer schedule is that they have to replace their serialized dramas with “new” product, which doesn’t give potential new viewers a chance to discover the show.

  • Sarah

    Bones live+7 demo numbers?

  • Michael

It feels like Revenge never makes this list. Unless, it was on hiatus that week.

  • S.P.

People just really enjoy DVRing NBC instead of watching live. Revolution, Grimm, Hannibal, and Chicago Fire ratings Have huge increases. WOW !!!

  • ZmaX

    @Michael
Revenge usually does make the list, and it was a new episode on May 5th… If I remember correctly, it has recently been getting a .9 increase in these DVR ratings so I assume it got the same this week, but it’s just a bit lower on the list.

    @Bill/Robert/Sara

    Bones demos?

  • david

Geting a .5 for 90210 explains why it ended this season and a .5 for Nikita in DVR explains why they are only giving it a short final season.

  • Wright

Too bad renewals aren’t based on live + DVR viewership.

  • kevin

    Good numbers for Greys :)

  • lostboy

Go Revolution and Hannibal. New to the website does this mean anything to the network as far as renewals. Does it mean something to NetFlix to keep the show from being cancelled. Please can someone enlighten me.

  • lostboy

@ Jess please no enlightenment, you are kinda sarcastic.

  • MichaelChickless

Elementary, Revolution, and Modern Family in the top-10 of all 3 lists.

    Go Hannibal!

  • POIFanatic

10pm slot is really not doing Revolution any favors I see. Half its audience dvr the show. Impressive gains.
    TBBT continues to awe me.

  • lostboy

I DVR everything I watch. I fast forward through the comercials. I will be turning Revolution on at 10:18pm tonight unless of course it is preempted because of weather. I can not imagine watching a show now, live with the invention of DVR. I guess Nielson watches live. They must like NBC, but not eough to watch Live other than the VOICE. I take that back I will watch Football Live.

  • marc

How come Revenge is never on the LIVE+7 DVR?

  • S.P

I think that’s why NBC is moving Revolution to 8pm to see if most of that Huge DVR audience will watch it live at an earlier time.

  • susan

    wheres revenge?

  • 9to5

happy revolution is moving to 8 p.m.

  • halloween

    Bring back 90210! :)

  • DEF

Can someone tell the viewers bonus for Once or no? Thanks
