  • Other than THAT Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?

5-Oh might last another 2 seasons at best. Tale will be told by the mid point of next season. If it sinks to 1.0 or lower then its Toast.

  • Britney

    @ The End
@Hawaii Five-O has had a fairly bad season ratings wise, these finale numbers are actually good, not just from a ratings standpoint, but when you look back at this season and see how well it did on a whole.

No they did not do well on a whole. It dropped .7 from last years season finale and that is not having Castle as competition. Sorry, you can sugarcoat it all you want. The bad writing that has been showing in the show is finally showing on the wall for this show. One season left. Tops.

  • BigBrotherFan

    Yikes! :s

I thought GOODWIN GAMES wouldn’t get adjusted down! Those are some really ugly numbers even for a summer series. The BIGGEST dud of the year still goes to Hannibal, though!

  • Ivy

I love my H50 but I got to admit the writing is abysmal.

  • Chris

Hawaii Five-O has always had bad writing though, so the fan base must be either fine with it, or oblivious (I think it is a bit of both).

Rev taking away 5-O ratings is unlikely. It will be shown when Rev moves and 5-O ratings remain relatively untouched. I agree with Britney, there was no real competition, so no excuse. It might wake them up, hire better writers, and stage a comeback.

  • Jim

Hawaii Five-0 won’t last long. The finale numbers are very bad even if it improved from last week. With no Castle, that small gain means very little, and still is a very bad result.I give it one or two more seasons.I bet one.

Blue Bloods is a stronger show than Hawaii Five 0, Better acted and better writen, and it will last longer than the remake.
Tom S. is a big old cbs friend, and the producer of BB is Leonard Goldberg, if you Google him, he is a member of the CBS Board Directors at CBS Corporation . So with the numbers BB is getting , if the choice is Hawaii Five-0 or BB, I can see Hawaii being canceled.

  • Wright

    Go Revolution!!!

Did CBS promote Rules as its Series Finale?

    Babar Suhail
Nope, they called it the Season Finale in the promo.

CBS had some advertisements with “series” and some with “season” for the finale of Rules of Engagement

Yeah, the ads I saw on CBS over the weekend (during golf I think) billed it as the Series Finale.

  • CBSviewer

    @ Jim

    Better acted and better written

CBS doesn’t care about quality if a Show. What’s important is ratings.

<Blue Bloods is a stronger Show than Hawaii Five-0

Hawaii Five-0 scored a 2.0 against Revolution (1.9) without any lead-in. Blue Bloods is a three-year old Show and it got a 1.1 for its season finale. How low will it go next season ? Below a 1.0 ?

If the choice is Hawaii Five-0 or BB, I can see Hawaii Five-0 being canceled.

CBS will choose Hawaii Five-0 instead of Blue Bloods because it has higher ratings and it syndication deal is the higher on TV. The Show has, at least, two seasons left and maybe a third depending on how it will do on Friday and how Blue Bloods and the other CBS will rate. But likely CBS wants to keep it as long as they can.

  • The End

@No they did not do well on a whole

Did you hear that? That’s the sound of my comment going straight over your head.
(Breaking it down further, the point I highlighted suggests you did not read my post properly at all. Infact you’re too wrapped up in your hate for the show to actually read it correctly, because if you did, you would not of wrote what you did).

  • Baaa!

H5O can thank Charlie Sheen for its now looking premature syndication deal. Had CBS Monday not been boosted from his TAAHM departure last season, its ratings would have been on the possible Friday treatment then.Quick can Kutcher!

  • Cara

Hawaii has never been a hit. It just got very lucky with all the Charlie Sheen mess that gave the show an insane huge lead in. And then of course zero competition on NBC. And even with all of that, the remake never was able to get close to the numbers CSI Miami was getting there.
The moment NBC got a show there, Hawaii took a nose dive. And the dvr numbers are not good either. People is just not watching it.
It will tank on Fridays, fast. And CBS knows that, but they cannot keep this loser for longer on Monday.

I think H50 will get better numbers than CSI NY on Fridays. It’s younger show and finale was rather well received. As for monday night, we have yet to see what ratings “Hostages” and later “Intelligence” will get. After watching the previews of both shows I am not very optimistic about their performance. I have to admit NBC’s Black list looks much more promosing – it may be unexpected winner of the night with The voice lead in.

  • Baaa!

I wanted to like H5O even though I’m a Castle fan, but it just didn’t click with me. Its true of alot of CBS stuff. Big Bang is okay, but I watch it mostly in syndication.I wonder how H5O will fair as it would seem to appeal more to younger demos, but they are the ones going out on Friday nights.

  • The End

@I wanted to like H5O even though I’m a Castle fan

Not speaking about you specifically but highlighted this point you raised. I take it a small minority of Castle fans on here feel they need to hate on Hawaii Five-O for whatever reason?

Been coming here for ages now and didn’t notice, or care about the fanboy wars that occur here, but as comments have slowed down to such a point that such comments are more visable, that explains a few responses here.

Typically I’m not usually around network posts(Non finals) till at least 100-200 posts have been made, and simply pick out responses made on the first page, or the last to respond too and not bother reading the bulk of the thread..

Well lets see. GCB, Body of Proof, 666Park Avenue all had interesting plots and story lines and they got cancelled. Motive is off to an ok start and i will give it a full months run then watch it get cancelled. What do they all have in common? Leading ladies and ABC. ABC hardly ever gives a show a chance anymore. The only exception is Nashville (glad they did).

    just sayin
