    @Nickelodeon

    You got the wrong topic there guy. No teen programs listed here lol

    Looks like Season 25 of The Simpsons will be the last one. It had a good run. It probably could have stayed for another decade, if they didn’t make that deal, that cable networks could only air the show, only when it ends.

    @ Jon23812

    I hope you are wrong ! Season 24 scired a 2.1 too and the 24th season premiere had a 3.8 which is enough to be Renewed (especially because The Simpsons is always Renewed in October/November).

  • CBSviewer

    I meant Season 23 finale scored a 2.1, sorry :)

  • Jim

    @jon23812 Anything can happen when it come to show renewals. But Fox can get carried away with cancelling shows. But lets just hope it make it to more years. at least 30 SEASONS!!!!

  • The End

    @Jon23812

    Nope. Fox won’t cancel it next season, they’l make a big event of it and likely give a season or twos advance notice and produce a second movie for roughly the same time as it ends on TV.

    They’ve always said a movie will follow the end of the series. And as one hasn’t been made yet, I would say they would give advanced notice.

    Anyway surprised it’s so dead on this topic. We usually see at least 50-70 comments on a Sunday finals post..

  • CBSviewer

    @ Jim

    :) 30 Seasons and two movies !

  • Jim

    Fox did finally pulled the plug on C.O.P.S But moved to Spike TV now.

    @ The End

    Im a big fan of the Show but why are you so sure it will get Renewed ? It’s probably one of the most expensive Show on TV but I hope you are right :)

  • Jim

    @CBSviewer

    We can only hope CBSviewer :}

  • The End

    @TheFrenchGuy

    Because it’s The Simpsons, an iconic show with prestige. Should it end, it’l get the proper treatment from Fox, that I am sure. Ignoring the fact the show is a billion dollar franchise too..

    While this is my own personal opinion, I do believe it’l happen and won’t just be canceled out of the blue.

  • TheFrenchGuy

    @ The End

    Thanks !

    Also worth noting that The Simpsons cast aren’t getting any younger either, they’ve made enough money to live comfortably for the rest of their lives and don’t actually need to do these roles. With that in mind, I think in the in the next 5 years, a decision will be made either way. The show won’t last forever and I can’t ever see them recasting anyone important.

    But yeah, this show is probably one of the most important shows to Fox that they have in their library. They make more money off The Simpsons than anything else on the air even(Not speaking about ad revenue, more about the revenue the franchise brings as a whole).

  • Jon23812

    Well, in 2011, FOX tried to cancel it, but agreed to two more seasons after the cast and crew agreed to pay cuts. Now the ratings aren’t getting any better, and FOX may want the show to end since, they want to make money with it through cable reruns.

  • The End

    They already make a lot of money from The Simpsons as a whole. The budget cuts were mearly them being greedy.

    After 25 seasons Simpsons is still going strong, though Family Guy has clearly surpassed it in popularity (or at least viewership). Cleveland Show got the 7PM death slot and its final episodes would have got better numbers at 10PM (I know, Fox doesn’t program the 10PM hour). Cleveland Show will live on at Adult Swim – at least in repeats, possibly new episodes if they can strike a deal with Seth MacFarlane and Fox.

    @Jon23812
    They could always renegotiate that deal. How hard would it be? Just get together all the parties involved.
