Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Very bad numbers for H50 finale considering Castle finale was last week. I cannot believe it was not even able to gain demo numbers after a Mike&Molly repeat . The show skews really old. The move to Fridays is well deserved,
    So only Castle will remain in the same spot next season. Revolution is moving too. Castle did good. Congrats!

  • Rebecca

    Enjoyed the RoE finale, and saw Goodwin Games online and enjoyed that a lot, too. I’ll continue to watch the rest of its run. The Goodwin siblings are so different from each other, and the crook brother is pretty funny. Haven’t watched last night’s RVN yet. Will do so some time today.

  • Matt

    Goodwin Games got better towards the end. I think it is a one off show. But yea Fox has really done a miserable job with the show. I am sure the Tornado stole viewers from all shows but as it should.

    @MichaelChickless
    Can people here possibly NOT post spoilers of current TV shows in this DVR era?

    Not that I condone the posting of spoilers, but it does rest on you to exercise some common sense – if you haven’t seen what was on TV last night, maybe you should avoid a comment thread discussing what was on TV last night.

    @Matt
    But yea Fox has really done a miserable job with the show.

    They liked the pilot enough to order it to series, but then they weren’t happy with the resulting episodes so production was stopped six months ago.

    If FOX did a better job, then they would have never picked up the series in the first place.

  • Ronald

    i liked the plot of the goodwin games! it`s not great but it`s good to watch

  • Shaz

    When H50 started, it was one of CBSs youngest-skewing shows. It seems like all the younger viewers left H50 for Revolution but didn’t bother returning after abandoning Revolution.

    I don’t buy that the bad writing turned away H50 viewers. Most will agree that S2 had the worst writing, yet the ratings remained about the same or maybe slighly lower than S1. H50’s ratings didn’t tank until it had competition from a show aimed at a younger-skewing audience (Revolution) compared to the previous year (Playboy Club & Smash).

    @Ultima Re: Spoilers

    Even if I haven’t watched the show the night before, I’m still interested in the discussion of it numbers. (ie tvbythenumbers)

    I’ve always posted spoiler *warnings* when discussing salient plot points of recent shows.

  • lakersupbyten

    Congrats to five 0, great to see them back in the 2s again! Hopefully we will see 5 years or more seasons. Excellent eppy..but give FONG a break! Lol.

  • bluejays

    So HFo finale does same as Elementary despite the other show getting a special two hour slot and the post BBT boost. And HFO got more overall viewers. Well done CBS on moving the show out of the two with the fantastic syndication deal!

    i liked the plot of the goodwin games!

    Now you ruined it for me!

    (just kidding) ;-) :-)

  • Ultima

    @Joseph
    I am shocked that neither ABC, CBS, nor NBC pre-empted any regular programs for a half-hour or hour-long special on the Oklahoma tornado.

    At what point do you stop being shocked about these things and admit to yourself that you’re clueless when it comes to TV programming and ratings?

  • The End

    @HWQ

    Even though it’s a Canadian import, every network has standards. A 1.4 debut can only get lower as it goes along. I wouldn’t expect more than 1 season from this on ABC personally.

    I’m reasonably happy that my death prediction for this show is looking as likely to occur as ever on ABC. That said, it can continue in Canada regardless. Nothing against the show or anything no. Just months back we discussed this show on here and I was a little more forward with my prediction about it.

    I understand that, but expecting everyone else to be that courteous on the internet is very unrealistic.

    @catsrule
    Raising Hope had 2 unaired episodes this season. It should have been new last night to give The Goodwin Games a stronger lead-in

    FOX canceled The Goodwin Games six months ago, why waste a new episode of Raising Hope on it?

  • John A

    Im bored of this H50 V Castle thing. I like Castle but neither show does amazing for anyone to brag about.

  • Antonio

    Half hours?

  • bluejays

    @Mike. Well as Elementary did the same demo and lower viewers and got a two hour special slot and a great lead in will we see similar censure from yourself for that show? Thought not.

  • The End

    @Mike
    @Very bad numbers for H50 finale

    By bad, you obviously mean average. The show by no measure did badly, a 2.0 at 10pm is alright. I would call it good but don’t want to be drawn into the fanboy wars here that occur for some shows.

  • 9to5

    I don’t think people want to see a chubby Nathon Fillon with his shirt off.

    Why bash on a tv show if you do not even watch it.
    When you consider you had 3 10pm shows on abc,cbs, and NBC and the Bates Motel (4). The ratings for Castle/H50/Revolution all were very tough competition. I realize Revolution ratings have slipped but considering the past few years Mondays on NBC were terrible. Maybe NBC might want to think of Revolution as a success in spite of huge mistake of taking it off the air 4 months. I think the ratings are actually not that bad for a Syfy show. I will watch Wedneday’s at 8pm. I sure hope NBC has a low ceiling for renewals on that network. Now give us some news on Hannibal renewal.
