During President Obama‘s counterterrorism policy speech at National Defense University on Thursday afternoon, Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin interrupted when the topic turned to the closing of the military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay.

“I’m about to address it, ma’am,” Obama said as Benjamin went off about the hunger strike currently taking hold amongst Gitmo detainees. “Why don’t you sit down? But you’ve got to let me speak.”

“You are commander-in-chief! You can close Gitmo today!” she continued, despite Obama’s repeated protests that he intended to address those issues himself.

“You should let me finish my sentence,” he said before explaining his desire for Congress to make it easier to transfer detainees out of the camp, allowing him to fulfill his promise to close Gitmo. “I am confident this legacy problem can be solved, consistent with the rule of law.”

Obama also added that he is willing to cut the heckler “some slack” because “it’s worth passionate about” the indefinite detention of the prisoners without formal charges.

Several minutes later, Benjamin interrupted once more, decrying the administration’s killing of 16-year-old American citizen Abdulrahman al-Awlaki with a drone strike. Instead of protesting her interruption, Obama paused his speech and allowed her to rant while security attempted to remove her from the back of the room.

*BOEHNER: Senate immigration bill dead on arrival…

    @Rat
How do teleprompters work? Does he have a button to stop it from scrolling when he is interrupted? I could see he was using them and am just curious.

Obama in DENIAL on Global Terrorism

And of the course the LAME STREAM MEDIA….is coddling him on this as well.

Obama: ‘Global War on Terror’ Is Over

OBAMA will go ANY AND ALL lengths to protect his Islamic Muslim Jihadist Brotherhood.

What kind of president does NOT defend his own country??

I don’t know if he would stoop that low to push his own stop button. I am sure he has people that do that for him after all he IS the King

I love Kohls and their coupons and Extra Bucks!! I too, like your wife, like to think of Kohls as one of my homes…lol

Especially love the kitchen and home sections!!

  • Chriscee

Is Obama really and truly trying to P*SS off the media? He seems to be working towards that direction!!

    Now THIS is important SH$#

No Mention of IRS Scandal on NBC’s ‘Today,’ But Plenty of Time for Obama

While Thursday’s NBC Today completely ignored Wednesday’s dramatic congressional hearing on the growing IRS scandal, the network morning show did manage to find time to gush over Barack Obama’s 1979 prom picture, with fill-in news reader Tamron Hall exclaiming: “Well, now thanks to Time magazine, we have proof that even the commander-in-chief once donned the white dinner jacket. There he is, that’s 17-year-old Barry Obama…at his senior prom in Hawaii….”

Hall provided another important detail to viewers: “President Obama’s classmate Kelli Alman released the pictures to Time, complete with the President’s yearbook inscription to her, calling her, quote, ‘extremely sweet and foxy.’” The news brief prompted a thirty-second discussion on the topic.

Ezra Klein…you know him….white house secret meeting

Put up Obama’s full speech from today at the WaPo

Obama to Ezra “please protect me”

  • Chriscee

    From the Guardian

Barack Obama struggles to redefine the ‘war on terror’

The president’s heavily leaked speech appears to mark a shift away from Bush-era tactics even as his rhetoric defends them

Anything Bush ever did..to protect the USA…OBAMA HATES!!

  • Ratboy

Hey at this point he will take anybody he can get on his side!!

GOP’s Chambliss: Obama speech will be ‘viewed by terrorists as victory’

The senior Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee said President Obama’s national security speech will be “viewed by terrorists as a victory.”

Sen. Saxby Chambliss (Ga.) made the remarks in a statement released moments after Obama’s speech. He focused his criticism on Obama’s plans to move toward closing the Guantanamo Bay detainee camp.

I am not allowed to post at Huffington Post because I once asked Arianna if she slept with George Soros in order to get her cushy “link-only” news website.

Ever since then it doesn’t allow me to write anything. I can only read the Liberal pablum. But lately there’s a lot of Left/Liberals/Commies not towing the line anymore. There’s a lot more dissension amongst the Socialist ranks. Works for me!!!

  • Coffee Steve

So does that mean he isn’t having a war on Terror? Isn’t that not a good thing?

  • Chriscee

New Democrat talking point from Obama….Obama says repeat repeat repeat

Obama: Core of Al Qaeda on ‘Path to Defeat’

Watch for that to come..from the democrats.

Personally I think Obama has lost it. And I truly think he doesn’t want to be president anymore..He just didn’t want the other guy to win.

I hope George didn’t it would ruin his rep :-)

  • Coffee Steve

There were a few code pink like kids on Granada, after they were freed, they suddenly became HUGE fans of the Military

  • BevAG

    @Rat

Isn’t that too funny??? I didn’t even know they could knock you off like that? I even tried to change my name and it still won’t let me post anything. lol I’m figuring that got her REALLY ticked off……and I don’t have a problem with that. lol

I figured Arianna, who used to be Republican, but her husband left her for a man probably slept with George Soros and he offered her a link-only news website, and she ate it up like the — I’ll be a lady here and let you all fill in the blank with the word that starts with a w — she is and now feels like she’s accomplished something. :::grin:::
