 2013-2014 SEASON

CBS has ordered the single-camera comedy BAD TEACHER for the 2013-2014 season.

Based on the hit feature film, BAD TEACHER stars Ari Graynor as an always inappropriate, fearless and unapologetic former trophy wife who masquerades as a teacher in order to find a new man after her wealthy husband leaves her penniless.

Hilary Winston, Lee Eisenberg, Gene Stupnitsky, Sam Hansen, Jimmy Miller and Michael Lasker are executive producers for Sony Pictures Television in association with CBS Television Studios and Mosaic Media Group.

    Why wasnt this announced earlier?

  • Ronald

they pick it up later rigth¿? cause i read they wont be doing it and now they changed their minds

  • Bill

I guess held back for mid season if something fails?

  • The Original J

I think this show needs more executive producers.

  • Oliver

Yay. Love Hilary Winston’s work. She did great stuff on Community and Happy Endings.

  • Dan

I think CBS needs more comedies for next season

  • Ty

This is gonna work, I just feel it. Ari was HILARIOUS in The sitter.

If this is as bad as the movie its going to be disaster.

I thought the show “Trophy Wife” was what Bad Teacher was renmaed too. To me these seem really similar.

  • Colin

Yes!! Finally!! Cannot wait to watch it. Going to be funny.

    Why wasnt this announced earlier?

Because they hadn’t picked it up yet…

  • AniMatsuri

Why do I get the feeling this show will have next to none of the energy of the movie?

  • jake3988

That’s now 3 midseason comedies for CBS (2 new, 1 returning)… CBS expecting all their new comedies to bomb? If they don’t… where are they going to go?

  • Michael

Cameron Diaz was hilarious in the film. Hopefully, the show will be just as funny.

  • Ram510

This show seems like a Bad Idea. The decision-making at CBS has gotten worse over the past two seasons someone over there should be fired

When’s the latest a comedy for the upcoming season has ever been picked up? I’m interested in seeing if Assistance, Brenda Forever, and the Craig Robinson show are picked up at NBC.

“Based on the hit feature film, Bad Tacher.”

Define ‘hit’. Box office hit I assume, because both people and critics hated it. If it’s anything like the movie, not funny, it will probably get the Partners treatment.

Contract negotiation with Sony held it up. CBS Studios now is a co-producer. There wasn’t much doubt it would be picked up. All the pre-buzz has been that it’s been testing well. Companion to 2BG?

    This will be DOA.

My guess is networks won’t do as many full season pick ups not because there not doing well but have a ton of series with not alot of episodes.
