 2013-2014 SEASON

CBS has ordered the single-camera comedy BAD TEACHER for the 2013-2014 season.

Based on the hit feature film, BAD TEACHER stars Ari Graynor as an always inappropriate, fearless and unapologetic former trophy wife who masquerades as a teacher in order to find a new man after her wealthy husband leaves her penniless.

Hilary Winston, Lee Eisenberg, Gene Stupnitsky, Sam Hansen, Jimmy Miller and Michael Lasker are executive producers for Sony Pictures Television in association with CBS Television Studios and Mosaic Media Group.

In case you’re forgetting Mom is paired with 2 Broke Girls, and Mom WILL be a hit.

  • Jt

People have said that about so many shows such as Once/The Following/Grimm.

  • Jt

Yes it will be a hit but i could see it not having a full season order.

Seems like a late-season entry doomed to fail. Probably will be spackle when most of the new comedies tank. I think CBS is going a bit too crazy with the new comedies this year.

“In case you’re forgetting Mom is paired with 2 Broke Girls, and Mom WILL be a hit.”

You think just because Mom is after 2 Broke Girls, it will be a hit?

  • Oliver

I hope this isn’t shot to look like NCIS like all the other new CBS single-camera comedies.

  • Jt

The only one i think will tank is We Are Men.

  • SJ

This was a good concept, but a ridiculously bad movie. I can’t imagine the series being any better… Also, where is CBS gonna fit this one?

  • NeNe Leakes

The New Normal was cancelled, but garbage like this is given an order?

  • David

CBS is loading up on comedies because they’re trying to find some new hits. They have no returning freshman comedies, HIMYM will be in it’s final season, and TAAHM probably only has 1 or 2 seasons left. They have 6 new comedies plus Mike & Molly for 4 timeslots next season. Most new shows fail. If they can get a couple hits out of the 6 new shows, they will be doing pretty good.

  • Oliver

I find it amazing that people think it will bomb based on a logline. Geez, at least wait for the trailer.

  • Oliver

I wonder if CBS plans to put Mike & Molly and a failing new sitcom on Friday at 8.

  • David

No, I’m saying its a Chuck Lorre sitcom, it has full support from the network, the 2 Broke Girls lead in only helps. And c’mon, do you really think it will fail? Please explain if you do?

  • David

And that comment was referring back to the other posters comment saying Bad Teacher should be paired with 2 Broke Girls, I never said once that 2 Broke Girls would be the reason Mom’s a hit.

Another Single-cam ? CBS is maybe not sure about The Crazy Ones. I hope both will be Successful.

This was the one I was most looking forward to, glad it made the cut. The movie was hilarious, if this is even half as good, it’d be amazing.

  • Jayson

CBS disappoints with the jump onto the single camera bandwagon. Sad

  • Iggy

CBS expecting all their new comedies to bomb? If they don’t… where are they going to go?

My guess would be Wednesdays, with Survivor or Criminal Minds shuffled off to Sundays.

I personally thought the movie was pretty good. Unfortunately it’ll get neutered on broadcast TV & would’ve been a better fit on Showtime. I’ll give it a chance & see if it clicks or not. My guess is We Are Men will be an early casualty & I could see 2.5 Men replacing it on Mon & BT follow Crazy on Thur. which would be a better match both being single cam.

I wonder if HIMYM is getting a shortened order for its final season, if there’s only 13-15 episodes then there’s a chance either Friends with Better Lives or Bad Teacher getting the slot, Mike and Molly will replace a sitcom that flops which I think will be We Are Men,
