HLN had an amazing day yesterday – #1 across the board in the demos
    (excluding hockey on CNBC)

  • SteveB

Wow. MSNBC can’t get any lower

They should start Running sports on that Channel..

  • Jacob

I was expecting Nancy Grace’s head to explode yesterday, instead Jane Velez-Mitchell wouldn’t stop yelling

When will CNN’s new president Jeff Zucker realize that Wolf Blitzer is over exposed. He boring, stale and too scripted.

Speaking of boring with their political spin: Gloria Borger and Jessica Yellin need to go. Kudos to Mr Zucker for getting rid of James Carville, Soledad O’Brian, Roland Martin, Bill Bennett and Mary Matalin. But with those positive moves…he’s allowed Paul Begala and Donna Brazile to remain…two big propaganda BS’ers that noone wants to see or hear.

Conserative and middle of the road consumers of TV news and talk have been embarrassingly and woefully underserved by this once fine network. It’s up to Zucker to change this culture of liberal worship for the site to be a major player again.

  • Sam

Did CNBC turn into a sports channel now ?

Does the crew at HLN seriously expecting to increase their male audience by putting bunch of angry women yelling at us all the time ? Some of us have wives for that.

I’m glad Larry O’Donnell did good. He’s the only one who standing up to this non issue called “The IRS Scandal”. Chris Matthews might as well work for Fox News, his coverage is awful.

  • van

Wahoo! The weekend is here! I expect Fox ratings to go down only because its viewers are out enjoying themselves and NOT watching TV. Its Memorial Day weekend and honor the military by enjoying your freedom. Unplug the dam TV and get outside. Go by a cemetery and say thanks to those gave their all so we can enjoy the freedom to Speak, Bear Arms, Keep the Military out of Your House, Stop unwarranted Seizure, A Trial by Jury, A Speedy Trial and all of the others. Later folks.

  • b

why is MSNBC and CNN even included here? This is just as unfair as adding the baseball team for NYU into the same division as the Yankees.

  • Ratboy

@ this non issue called “The IRS Scandal

Step away from the punch bowl or the bong or what ever you are near!! Or pull your head out of the sand! When the left wing media jumps on it against a lefties there is a pretty good chance that it is real! Not saying all the other Obama lie ridden crap isn’t real but this one IS real!

    Oreilley up…Fox is down

Andrea Tantaros Of Fox News Wants You To Punch Her In The Face

Fox News pundit and co-host of “The Five,” Andrea Tantaros, stepped forward on Thursday to make a brave announcement outlining her position on the free exercise of democracy.

In a discussion about … Oh what the hell, it doesn’t matter what it was about. It always ends the same way with whichever interchangeable right-wing yakker belching out something similar to what Tantaros said: “This is Obama’s America! It’s like the Soviet Union.”
That’s right. America is exactly like the Soviet Union. You almost can’t tell them apart. Remember when Soviet voters elected a Black Russian to the presidency? And if the USSR was known for anything it was the freedom that people like Tantaros have to criticize the government and its leaders. But Tantaros went further to declare that Obama…
“…said he would change the country. He said it. He said it. He said it. And a lot of people voted for him. And if you see any of those people today, do me a favor. Punch them in the face.”

HLN was what i watch for the viertict non vertict coverage. DR Drew was great last night. After Dark was good too. They have the best coverage for court coverage. Great job to everybody at HLN again.

CONFIRMED: Fox News Hack James Rosen Is A Political Operative, Not A Journalist

The First Amendment holds a place of unique reverence in the hearts of Americans. Rather than focusing on a single issue, its authors packed it with critical constraints on the federal government that encompass rights pertaining to speech, association, religion, and the press. It is a mouthful of freedom that justifiably deserves special attention. However, like everything in the Constitution, it is not absolute and it requires interpretation to be understood and implemented.
With regard to recent events concerning Fox News, and its alleged reporter James Rosen, the question as to whether there was a violation of the First Amendment’s freedom of the press has roiled the media and spurred condemnation from across the political spectrum. However, no matter what one thinks about the propriety of a government agency examining the phone records of a purported journalist, James Rosen does not deserve to regarded as one.
In the government’s affidavit supporting their request for a search warrant, a passage in the document reveals that Rosen had stepped far outside the boundaries of journalism. His activities were those of a political operative with a specific agenda that was openly hostile to the official foreign policy of the United States. And Rosen pursued that agenda with an intent to obtain classified materials that he knew was impermissible for him to possess.

Why are you so convinced it is a non issue? Watergate was a non issue right up until the time it was an issue. I am not saying the President is guilty of anything, but there is enough out there now to question what was going on at the IRS and who knew what. These people are accountable to us.

  • d.d.

I enjoys reading you, but, respectfully disagree. The IRS debacle is a major scandal.

Obama Admin Fought To Keep Search Warrant Against Reporter James Rosen Secret

The Administration lost and then appealed to continue to keep rooting through Rosen’s records in secret. But Holder “knew nothing” about going after reporters…

    Ryan Lizza The New Yorker:

and The Hill reports the same.

The Justice Department pleaded with a federal judge to keep a Fox News reporter indefinitely in the dark as it tracked his email in a national security leaks case.

A new set of exhibits unsealed and made public this week show U.S. Attorney Ron Machen argued in 2010 that the traditional 30-day notice period did not apply to Fox News reporter James Rosen. Justice wanted to secretly monitor Rosen’s Gmail account.

Roger Ailes’ Limp Dictum: Keep Flinging Scandals Until Something Sticks

Last week has been described by many in the press as the worst week yet for the Obama presidency. It was a week that saw purported scandals hyped furiously by Fox News and other right-wing media. They almost cheerfully segued from Benghazi to the IRS to the Associated Press, and then looped back for more of the same.
Most of the reports were rife with falsehoods and errors. Most striking was the story aired by ABC’s Jonathan Karl who blatantly lied about his “exclusive” access to internal administration emails but, as it turned out, he not only did not have any emails, he unethically regurgitated false and damaging misrepresentations fed to him by Republicans in congress. And while he issued a vague note of regret for the phony attributions, he has yet to admit that his sources were partisans with an axe to grind. [NOTE: David Shuster appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources this morning and smacked down GOP apologist Jennifer Rubin in grand fashion on this subject. Video below].
Ever since these stories emerged, Republicans have been spinning with feverish glee in the expectation that they might bring down this president that they hate with such vicious intensity. And as an added bonus, refocusing attention on manufactured melodramas allows them to avoid doing any actual work for the people they supposedly represent. The GOP House has voted 38 times to repeal ObamaCare, but not once for a jobs bill.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the witch hunt. Obama’s approval rating has risen 6 points since March in a new CNN poll. And majorities say that they believe Obama’s statements about Benghazi and the IRS. So despite the aggravated bluster of the right, Obama’s fortunes have been faring well.
So how does Fox News react to a scenario wherein they have flung virtually all of the feces they could gather and none if it sticks to their target? Being Fox News they simply get dirtier and more insane as their desperation builds.
