Among Adults 18-49, Univision is #1 Broadcast Network on Friday, and #2 on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday

 

Liga MX Finale Draws 4.5 Million Total Viewers 2+; Most Watched Liga MX Game Ever on Any Network

 

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights - Week of May 20 to May 26, 2013

  • For the entire week (M-SU), Univision ranked #1 among Adults 18-34 and #4 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering CBS in both demographics.   

 

  • On Monday night, Univision ranked as the #2 network among Adults 18-34 and #4 for Adults 18-49, out-delivering FOX in both demographics.   Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 10 programs for each demographic.

 

  • On Tuesday night, Univision ranked as the #3 network among Adults 18-34 and #4 for Adults 18-49, out-delivering CBS in each demographic.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 10 programs for both demographics.

 

  • On Wednesday night, Univision ranked as the #4 network among Adults 18-34, out-delivering NBC.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 15 programs for both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.

 

  • On Thursday night, Univision’s ranked as the #1 network among Adults 18-34 and #2 for Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, and NBC in both demographics.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 10 programs for each demographic.

 

  • On Friday, Univision ranked as the #1 network among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for both demographics.

 

  • Airing “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday), Univision ranked #2 among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, and FOX in each demographic.  “Sabado Gigante” experienced growth over the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (2.1 Million, +3%),  Adults 18-49 (861,000, +1%), and Adults 18-34 (411,000, +17%).  Also, it ranked among the top 5 programs of the evening for Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.

 

  • On Sunday night, Univision ranked #1 among Adults 18-34 and #2 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, and NBC in each demographic.  Also, Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.

 

ü  At 7 p.m., Univision aired “Premios Oye,” a music awards show featuring performances by Alejandro Sanz, Emmanuel, and other top artists.  The awards show averaged 1.7 Million Total Viewers 2+, 875,000 Adults 18-49, and 458,000 Adults 18-34. 

ü  Following “Premios Oye” at 8:50 p.m., Univision aired the Liga MX final between America/Cruz Azul, delivering 4.5 Million Total Viewers 2+,  2.7 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.3 Million Adults 18-34. 

 

ü  This was the highest rated Liga MX game ever on any network among Total Viewers 2+.

ü  This was the 2nd highest rated Liga MX game on any net among Adults 18-49, trailing only Univision’s telecast of America vs. Chivas SuperClasico on 3/18/07 (2.8 Million).

ü  This was the 4th highest rated Liga MX game on any net among Adults 18-34.

 

  • At 8 p.m., Univision’s novela “Porque El Amor Manda” (Because Love Rules) helped Univision rank as the #1 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-34 and #4 for Adults 18-49.  The novela saw increases over the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (3.6 Million, +3%), Adults 18-49 (1.9 Million, +2%), and Adults 18-34 (961,000, +9%).

 

  • Univision’s 9 p.m. novela “Amores Verdaderos” (True Love) helped Univision rank as the #1 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-34 and #3 for Adults 18-49.  “Amores Verdaderos” averaged 4.6 Million Total Viewers 2+, 2.4 Million Adults 18-49, and 1.2 Million Adults 18-34.

 

  • Univision’s 10 p.m. novela “Que Bonito Amor” (Beautiful Love) helped Univision rank as the #2 network for the hour (M-F) among Adults 18-34.   The novela averaged 3.3 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.6 Million Adults 18-49, and 775,000 Adults 18-34.

    Within a year or two, Univision will likely be able to claim the title of being #1 among broadcast networks in the 18-34 demo for an entire season, thanks to the rapid growth of the Hispanic population, the splintering of English-language TV viewing, and the fact that there aren’t that many high-profile Spanish-language cable networks (yet).

    And by decade’s end, Univision will likely win an entire season among broadcast networks in the 18-49 demographic as well.
