UNIVERSAL CITY, CA – May 30, 2013 – mun2 is the #1 Hispanic entertainment cable
network for Hispanic millennial adults 18-34 on weekend prime (Saturday/Sunday, 7-11 p.m.) in May, according to Nielsen. The network delivered year-over-year growth of +6% (33,000) with adults 18-34 in weekend prime. This is the network’s second month in a row where they have led deliveries for that time period, out-performing Galavision and Discovery en Español. Additionally, mun2 was the fastest growing Hispanic cable network during its You’re On Weekend programming block (Saturday/Sunday, noon-7 p.m.) with +21% (41,000) adults 18-49. The networks May deliveries were driven by its original Hispanic Celebrity reality series I Love Jenni, bounty-hunter reality series Fugitivos de la Ley: Los Angeles, Regional Mexican music and lifestyle series Reventon as well as the original special, mun2 Presents: Fast & The Furious 6.
I Love Jenni (Sunday, 9 p.m.)
The mun2 original Hispanic Celebrity reality series finished the month up +198% (191,000) with total viewers, +173% (101,000) with adults 18-49 and +103% (59,000) with adults 18-34 during its premiere time slot (vs. prior year). I Love Jenni season three continues to be the #1 Hispanic cable program during its time slot, among total viewers and adults 18-34.
Fugitivos de la Ley: Los Angeles (Sunday, 8p.m.)
The mun2 original reality series grew in its premiere time slot +42% (84,000) total viewers and +9% (38,000) adults 18-49 for the month compared to previous year.
Reventon (Sunday, Noon)
The mun2 original grew +47% (85,000) total viewers, +91% (65,000) adults 18-49 +52% and (35,000) adults 18-34 in May vs. the prior year. On Sunday, May 5, Reventon hit its largest delivery year-to-date, with a high of 103,000 total viewers and 94,000 adults 18-49.
mun2 Presents: Fast & The Furious (Saturday, May 18, 6 p.m.)
Featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the summer blockbuster Fast & The Furious 6, the mun2 Presents special brought in its highest delivery ever with 243,000 total viewers and 112,000 adults 18-49.
mun2.tv had over 2 million video streams for the month of May, a +28% monthly and +36% year-over-year growth. The double-digit growth can be attributed to season three of I Love Jenni, which accounted for 1.2 million streams in May. The site also had double-digit visitor traffic growth, up +21% month-to-month and +293% year-over-year. Video content from the final season of I Love Jenni continues to grow, with episode six (“Mariposa, Part 2,” featuring the final days of Jenni Rivera) driving 179,819 video streams in one day – the highest one-day total ever (05/20/2013).
