New York--May 30th, 2013 -- NBC and NBC Sports Network will combine to televise eight hours of programming from the 2013 USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championships, June 1-2, in Philadelphia, Pa.

Coverage begins on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on NBC, with live Quarterfinal matches. Collegiate Rugby Championship action will continue on NBC Sports Network at 8 p.m. ET, following the conclusion of Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Western Conference Final.

On Sunday at 2 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Network will resume live coverage and telecast the Bronze Medal Challenger Final, followed by the Championship Final live on NBC.

The fourth annual tournament will be held at PPL Park and will feature 20 teams from various colleges, including California, Florida, Notre Dame, Penn State, UCLA, and back-to-back tournament champion Dartmouth.

All matches will consist of seven players per team, playing on the same size pitch as a traditional 15’s rugby match. Teams will compete in one of four pools and will play seven minute halves, with a two-minute halftime. Rugby Sevens will become an official Olympic sport in 2016 and the Collegiate Rugby Championship will offer fans a unique opportunity to preview the talent qualifying for the U.S. Olympic team.

Veteran announcer Todd Harris will serve as the play-by-play commentator for all telecasts. Harris will be joined in the booth by former USA Sevens captain and USA Rugby World Cup participant Brian Hightower. Marty Snider will report all the action from the sidelines.
