via press release:
SEASON FOUR OF A&E’S HIT SERIES ‘SHIPPING WARS’ GETS ON THE ROAD
TUESDAY, JUNE 11 WITH BACK-TO-BACK NEW EPISODES AT 10PM AND 10:30PM ET/PT
THE COMPETITION REVS UP THIS SEASON
WHEN THREE NEW TEAMS OF SHIPPERS ENTER THE BIDDING
New York, NY—May 31, 2013—A&E’s original real life series “Shipping Wars” is back and starting its engines once again, and this season, three new teams of shippers will be joining in on the auction, the action and the accidents that are just waiting to happen! New back-to-back episodes premiere Tuesday, June 11 at 10PM and 10:30PM ET/PT.
In the new season of “Shipping Wars,” Marc, Jarrett, Jennifer, Roy, Chris and Robbie are back, and as always, no shipment is too strange or too problematic for these professionals to handle… but handling the new competition that is trying to break in to the bidding wars is a different story! This season, three new teams of shippers will emerge at the auctions to challenge the regulars for the available loads… and it is definitely time to buckle up for some drama!
In the season premiere episode at 10PM, after Jarrett books a load of monkeys, he learns why people say “never work with kids or animals.” Marc delivers a load for a Las Vegas magician and more than his patience disappears. At 10:30PM, Chris and Robbie convert one of their rigs to run on vegetable oil and end up making a bet with the client- beat the tight, cross-country deadline and do it all on free grease. Roy tries to jumpstart his son Travis in the hauling business, but the cab gets cramped when Travis brings along a girlfriend and decades of baggage.
The new shipping teams that will be appearing this upcoming season include Courtney and Chelsea, Johnny, and Kourtney and Tish. Rookie movers Courtney and Chelsea may look like a pair of party girls, but their blonde hair and good looks are deceiving. The longtime friends grew up in a small country town raising livestock, working on ranches and getting their hands dirty, and they are not afraid of hard work, heavy lifting and long drives. For veteran driver Johnny, shipping is in his blood. He knew that truck driving would be his career since he was a little boy, and nearly forty years later, he is still happy behind the wheel making extremely difficult shipments. Kourtney and Tish, a self-proclaimed power couple, have only a little over a year of experience in the shipping business, but Kourtney’s past as a UFC boxing champion has them ready to try to knock out the competition!
“Shipping Wars” dives into the cutthroat world of heavy-duty independent movers as they battle for the chance to transport items that traditional carriers won’t touch. The competition begins with uShip, the world’s largest online marketplace for independent truckers. Every day, thousands of shipments are put up for auction. The battle is fierce as the shippers have only minutes to bid, and the lowest bidder gets the load. From oversized items and bulky packages to the truly bizarre, they will haul anything if the price is right!
“Shipping Wars” is produced by Megalomedia for A&E Network. Executive producer is Jonathan Nowzaradan. Co-executive producers are Tom Mireles, Jeff Keels and Graham Davidson. A&E executive producers are David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Devon Graham.
