Dan Harmon is apparently returning to Community, the show that he created then was very publicly fired from last year. The low rated cult hit overcame the odds to become one of just two NBC comedies that was renewed. Many Community fans felt the quality of the show declined without Harmon. Harmon tweeted the news, crediting star Joel McHale with persuading Sony and NBC to bring him back.

The whole “time slot” argument lost some steam when they ran a big ad campaign about moving to Fridays, delayed the airing, and then moved it back to the same time slot. It is not clear what NBC was thinking. I’m pretty sure that “Community” would have been able to hold its own against “Made In Jersey” and “Mob Doctor”, but I guess we’ll never know.

Parks and Rec. also had problems going up against American Idol and Two and a Half Men.

CBS and Fox tend to dominate the 8 – 9 PM Thursday night time slot. ABC is airing the low budget reality show; Wife Swap opposite them, while NBC is sticking with Community and Parks and Rec.

It means the 5th Season will get an uptick in quality from Season 4. What it’ll do for ratings is too early to tell. But some fans might decide to give Community another shot.

If Community was a strong show, BBT would t be a problem. Fact is that its a niche show and will not grow anymore.

So I guess he’s going to make a bunch of weird episodes again and finally get the show canceled.
I liked S4 pretty well because it was more consistent than the previous 3 which each had a 5-6 genius episodes and the rest split evenly being weird or mediocre.
