“All crimes get the death penalty, but they don’t kill them until they hit 18.”

Aha, so this show is life if CW ran the world…

No interest in “The Originals” and “Star Crossed” just seems like it’ll get boring really fast.

Good to see Megan Follows around in “Reign”. Weird that it’s on the CW.

“The 100″ does look interesting and “The Tomorrow People” will get a chance.

    Reign – Hoots Mon!

    @ james

I don’t know why you think that would be the demo for Reign. The Tudors had a young female audience.

The Originals = I don’t know. People already seen Vampires before and maybe want something else (Buffy, Angel, Vampire Diaries, Moonligh, True Blood, Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Dracula).

The Tommorrow People = Looks good but Im not sure it can be as Big as Supernatural, Arrow or Vampire Diaries. On the other hand it is the most promising new Show on The CW. I hope the Show doesn’t have just excellent special effects but also a good story :)

Reign = The CW tries something new and it can work. I’m just not sure about its timeslot. It would be better on Monday paired with Hart of Dixie.

The 100 = Looks good but CW should premiere it in the fall (and keep Reign for midseason) it would bring higher ratings.

Star-crossed = nothing to say. Worst new Show. It will tank.

Is there a mandate on CW: Hire everyone who is good looking, don’t care about acting skills?

None of these look good. I can’t help but to mourn that each of these could’ve been a hit in the hands of HBO or Showtime. But in CW’s hands they all look like different versions of the same schlop: teenage girl/boy discovers her/his potential and a love interest. Rivalry ensues. Rinse, repeat. The only one that caught my attention for the first 1 1/2 minute was The Tomorrow People, because I thought it was about a character with mental illness. But false alarm, he was just speshul.

    @ Tessa

You’re trying to apply logic to the CW. Good luck with that. Hollywood is full of good looking actors. The problem is that hiring the really good ones is expensive. That in part explains the presence on the CW of lightweights like Kristen Kreuk, Aimee Teegarden and Steven Amell. This hasn’t recently been much of an issue because of the low quality of shows on the network. The CW has already effectively written off Mondays and Fridays next season. What remains to be seen is if the network can get at least two of its new series off the ground. As others have observed, Star Crossed is probably already toast. After this season, you’d have thought that the CW would have tried to stop producing obvious lemons. But, I suspect they’ll keep coming as long as the network can make a decent profit hawking them in Lithuania.

Tomorrow People and the 100 both look very promising. Star Crossed looks a bit like Beauty and the Beast but a sci fi version ie a soap masquerading as a genre show. I wouldn’t watch Reign ot the Originals so didn’t bother with those trailers. This looks a far more promising bunch than last seasons Carrie Diaries, Emily Owens etc.

    1. The 100 – Looks great after this new trailer. .
    2. The Originals – Looks great but not really excited. I just rather stick to TVD.
    3. Reign – Going to fail. This year B&TB. I see a first and final season. The CW should just kept Nikita for a full season.
    4. Star Crossed – ^Same comment from Reign.
    5. The Tomorrow People – The BEST new show from The CW. Can’t wait for this one.

Overall The CW looks great on these new shows. Guarantee hits are The Originals, The Tomorrow People, and The 100. CW gone all sci-fi/fantasy which is great, it’s way better than their teen crap shows that they used to have. Nikita, Hart of Dixie, and The Carrie Diaries now look awkward.

The 100 has a killer story line. The other new shows i will pass.

  • Chris

Star Crossed is just an updated Roswell, so they are recycling their own stuff now (which is good for the environment).

“All crimes get the death penalty, but they don’t kill them until they hit 18.”
That does not make sense on a space station with extremely limited resources and living space. Then again, not much of the trailer made sense.

“Is there a mandate on CW: Hire everyone who is good looking, don’t care about acting skills? ”
This is hearsay but I believed the person that told me about this on a flight: Yes, but they also have to be willing to work for next to nothing with most of their pay being back-ended, and directly tied to the relative success of the show (at least at the start). So it is a gamble for most of the kids they hire. The adults with acting experience probably get better contracts, probably.
