“FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, HOUSEHOLDS AND ADULTS 25-54 (TIED) ON JUNE 2
“FACE THE NATION” IS UP +20% IN ADULTS 25-54 – THE DEMOGRAPHIC MOST IMPORTANT TO THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS – +19% IN VIEWERS AND +24% IN HOUSEHOLDS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, households and adults 25-54 (tied with NBC) on Sunday, June 2. The CBS broadcast posted 0.6/03 in adults 25-54 with 2.81m viewers and 2.1/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION beat NBC by +470,000 viewers. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 63% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +20% in adults 25-54 (from 0.5/03) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – +19% in viewers (from 2.37m) and +24% in households (from 1.7/05).
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +9% in viewers (3.21m from 2.95m), +10% in households (2.3/06 from 2.1/06) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year. FACE THE NATION, television year-to-date, is first in adults 25-54 (tied with NBC), viewers and households.
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Gov. Mary Fallin (R-OK); Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI). Schieffer hosted a panel with Jill Abramson, executive editor of The New York Times; Bob Woodward and David Ignatius of The Washington Post; Dan Klaidman of The Daily Beast; and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.
